Toshiba Qosmio X75 inherited many design features from its predecessor X870. Toshiba retains aluminum pattern Black Widow for facade and interior lid. However, as mentioned above with a new design language, the Skyline X75 overall design U-shaped, similar to the Satellite P50. This design makes the machine look elegant and modern than the clunky old style of X870. In addition, red backlit Qosmio logo was moved to the bottom and not in the middle as the previous version.
Inside, microfilm and palm rest area is still aluminum. Surrounding the edge chrome edging machine is still red but at least it’s not too “cheesy” as the same design of the X870. The connectors are located on 2 sides with 4 USB 3.0 ports, 1 HDMI, 1 VGA, 1 LAN. However, 2 USB ports are located very close together, so you can not plug in a USB 2 large size. Previous next machine only SD card slot and the signal lights.
Between interior is frameless keyboard (frameless) X770 and X870 varieties. I always appreciate the keyboard of the Qosmio and X75, typing experience is still preserved. The keys are spaced approximately 2 mm, moderate journey and key layout is very reasonable. The navigation keys are made a bit small though but still easy to press. And of course, the keyboard is also backlit red backlit characteristic of the Qosmio line.
Above the keyboard are the speakers Harman / Kardon with general power button is integrated into a mesh surface, finishing quite sophisticated. Below the keyboard is a large multi-table drag, highly sensitive to the U-shaped design, a red border similar to X870. Andrew table is designed as ClickPad, you can click at any point on the table dragging and 2 mouse buttons are easy to press sinking. However, due to drag the table to the left lopsided Space key to space to hand pretty much narrowed.
Monitors & Speakers:
Like the previous version, the Qosmio X75 screen is also equipped with 17.3 “TruBrite LCD, Full HD 1080p resolution. Technology on the Qosmio X75 TruBrite screen for crisp picture quality and bright colors. Possibility ability to reproduce very fine details and wide viewing angle 2 side, allowing you to share content with the person sitting next better. However, the glossy screen glare phenomenon still occurs if you use the machine where the light source directly or outdoors.
Sound, continued Qosmio X75 is equipped with technology speaker Harman / Kardon very quality. Big audio output, sound quality make clear whether opening up the volume. However, I feel Harman / Kardon on X75 is somewhat inferior to X870 or X770. Deep bass and not full of internal resources as the previous version.
On the CPU, the Qosmio X75 is equipped with the same type of CPU with the Satellite P50 – Intel Core i7 4700MQ. This is a Quad-core CPU, cache 6 MB. Compared to a generation Core i7 CPU 4 is quite common, the performance of both 4700HQ 2 vary only slightly. Max TDP 47 W but are integrated GPU’s clock speed is 1.2 GHz 4700HQ, 1.15 GHz 4700MQ higher.
With this configuration, Windows Experience Index 7.0 points marking system, based on the lowest scale graphics performance and 3D desktop. This is a high point in the line of game machines. However, if compared to the ASUS G750JX-DB71 with Core i7 CPU and graphics card GTX 4700HQ similar 770M graphics performance, the point of the Qosmio X75 lost 0.6 points.
I also had to make some machine benchmark for assessing post processing capabilities. Usually, I try to use all the 3DMark 11 3 v1.0.5, 3DMark 11 and PCMark 7. However in 2013, 3DMark 11, 2013 unfortunately can not be done because no compatible driver error. So I just give results comparable 3DMark 11 v1.0.5 and PCMark 7.
To compare, pick out 3 machine running Haswell has other removable card is ASUS N550JV (4700HQ Core i7, Nvidia GT 750M, 8 GB RAM, HDD); ASUS G750JX-DB71 (4700HQ Core i7, Nvidia GTX 770M, 16 GB RAM, SSD + HDD) and Toshiba Satellite P50 (Core i7 4700MQ, NVidia GT 745M, 8 GB RAM, HDD).
3DMark 11 v1.0.5:
In Performance mode test, the Qosmio X75 reach 5108 points, quite equal than ASUS G750JX-DB71 although equipped with CPU and GPU higher. Also from this comparison table, we can see the difference in strength between the two GTX GPUs Nvidia GT luxury and mid-range. The remaining two aircraft are ASUS and Toshiba Satellite P50 N550JV respectively Nvidia GeForce GT750M GPU and GT745M. 2 graphics performance of the GPU only by one half compared with the ASUS GTX G750JX and Qosmio X75.
Thanks to the SSD, speed data access on the Qosmio X75 quickly. Hard drive benchmark results by CrystalDisk Mark showed SSD read speed of 490 MB / s, while the write speed is 454 MB / s. If compared to traditional mechanical HDD 5400 rpm Toshiba Satellite P50 as of this speed is 5 times faster. Thus, the SSD-equipped Qosmio X75 has helped maximize the power of a gaming machine.
Pin & heat:
Qosmio X75 is equipped with 8-cell battery 47 Wh X870 similar. Used to surf the web, work normally, listen to some music, screen brightness 70-80%, Eco mode, the battery life of the battery can withstand machine in about 3 ½ hours. If so, the battery mode only Balanced nearly 3 hours. When your gaming then plug the power to achieve maximum performance.
Temperature, quite hot Qosmio X75 as its red tones. In the area to the right hand, it will be clear if your hot heavy gaming and warmth if you work normally. In addition, the design slots placed next to radiators, heat will directly handle the ferry straight into the mouse when gaming. This is an inconvenient design “classics” of the Qosmio line is that Toshiba has not yet changed.
