Design
Archos 101 XS is an almost slimmer version of the previous-generation tablet, the Archos 101 G9. Instead of black and dark silver, the 101 XS uses silver decking and a metal back cover, and the rest is white plastic.
Archos 101 XS’s right edge with small speakers, while the left side is the front webcam. Like the Lenovo ThinkPad tablet S2109, the position of the camera is quite grotesque. Although tablets are usually arranged horizontally, you will need to rotate along with the machine when using the front camera to see the conversation.

The lower right corner of the machine on and off button volume rocker. The volume buttons are difficult to press and require users to take their hands off the device to change the volume. The left side has a microSD card slot, micro USB port, micro HDMI, and 3.5 mm headphone jack.

26.9 x 16.8 size x 1 cm, the 101 XS a little smaller than the Asus Transformer Pad TF300. It weighs 630 g, like the TF300. When adding a keypad on, it weighs about 900 g and about 1.3 cm thick.

Keyboard
101 XS keyboard with white and silver tones like tablets. The two parts are held together by magnets along the machine, help them connect quite sure. To remove the two parts, you will have to drag along the fuselage, rather tricky.

The keyboard is made of plastic, making it not very much rigidity; I can turn the keyboard by hand. The following section of the keyboard with a tripod has to put up before the tablet down. Not the most intelligent design, but it is functional. The best thing is when you attach a keyboard to it, you can use it immediately without the need to set up a Bluetooth connection.

I like the keyboard available on some dedicated function buttons for Android, such as the Task Manager or the Home button on the left sidebar Spacebar and the right button to open the applications list. Line function keys with controls to adjust the screen’s brightness, volume, Search, and Back.

Unfortunately, the keys are pretty minor. I often suffer mistyped keys. Sometimes worse than not getting the tablet that I’ve knocked down, I was compelled to retype.

When I click the Back button (back) or Delete (delete) while typing a Gmail message, the cursor jumps to the section addressed to, instead of the editor window. However, the delete button works fine with the Google Docs app. Archos said the software update would resolve this error.
Unfortunately, because if considered as an external keyboard, the key buttons are a pretty good journey.

Screen
Screen size 10 inch, 1280 x 800 resolution of the machine is quite good compared to other products in the price range. Like “The Expendables 2”, black is shown quite deep while others are brightly colored when watching the trailer. Additionally, the screen has good viewing angles. I can see what happens on the screen in the corner near 180 degrees.

Sound
I like the Archos 101 points XS because its speakers are located on the front, but its location was a bit low and susceptible to finger obscure. Speakers also on the right side only, so the sound output is not balanced. Plus, the sound is tiny, and when adjusted to the highest volume level, the sound becomes distorted.

Temperature
One of the biggest is not pleasant for the 101 G9 is the flip side of it becomes very hot – up to 42 degrees Celsius – after turning on video for about 15 minutes. The good news is that position of the XS 101 only up to about 35 degrees C.

Display
Archos 101 XS uses a version of Android 4.0 that does not customize, and Archos said it upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) in the fall. As with other tablets running ICS, Recent Apps buttons, I like to help the software list recent run multitasking operations and quickly access Settings at the screen’s bottom right.

The virtual keyboard is easy to Android’s usual type. However, like with most other 10-inch tablets, while typing in landscape screen mode, your thumb will have to take out as much to type the text between the keyboard.

The 101 XS has 16 GB of internal memory and can be extended to 64 GB via a micro SD card slot.

Application
Archos is a company manufacturing portable entertainment devices, and they have left the mark with the application to watch movies and listen to music very attractive. Your entertainment items listed on the left and the right are links to items such as Shared Folders, Playlists, and Favourites in both applications.

Archos Remote is an application that helps you control the 101 XS with other Android devices on the same local network, handy if you are connecting the 101 XS with a TV and want to open a video without having to work on the machine equal.

Camera
As mentioned, the Archos 101 XS has a front-facing camera with a 1.3-megapixel resolution placed in the left corner. Placement of cameras that you can accidentally cover the lost camera cannot clearly show the face while holding horizontally.
