Design and finish

Asus once again brings a variety of color options for users to express themselves, VivoBook 15 OLED K513 will be available in 3 colors: Black, Silver, and Gold. We love the matte black color for its subtlety and elegance, with its metal lid and overall hard plastic finish.

The machine has a not-so-heavy weight of 1.7kg and a thickness of about 17.9mm, still providing good flexibility and mobility.

It is quite difficult to open and close the lid with one hand and open the device, the edges of the screen are quite thin, and the top edge will have an HD webcam.

The C-side of VivoBook 15 OLED including the chassis and keyboard also feels luxurious and elegant like the overall machine. But there is an additional highlight which is the Enter key with a yellow border, and the touchpad also has a creative cutout to attract attention.

Wide and comfortable viewing angle

The maximum brightness measured is 390 nits (cd/m2) in the center of the screen (HDR off). The corresponding color temperature on a white screen and at maximum brightness is 6400K – pretty close to the 6500K sRGB color temperature.

Temperature and cooling system

Stress test

In this test, we run light-to-heavy tasks over time, pushing CPU cores up to 100%, thereby monitoring clock stability, and temperature chip output.

Also in this test, we enabled the Performance setting from the separate application software provided by Asus. It allows the processor to maintain the 28W TDP limit for a long time, thereby also keeping the clock close to 3.0 GHz at the end of the test. This can be considered an impressive result, but the temperature emitted is quite warm at 85 degrees Celsius.

Warmth can be felt through the keyboard frame, but fortunately, it is mainly concentrated around the Numpad area, not affecting too much the process of use.
