amazon CANON EOS R reviews

On the occasion of the launch of its first full-frame Mirrorless Full Frame, Canon EOS R, Canon held a visit to the company’s headquarters in Shimomaruko, Tokyo, Japan, as well as its manufacturing facility. Their lens in Utsunomiya.

In this space, I had the chance to experience the Canon EOS R and two 24-105mm f / 4 IS IS and 35mm f / 1.8 IS ISM RF lenses for about 5 days. Here are my quick experiences with Canon’s first full-frame mirrorless.

The first impression when using Canon EOS R is very familiar to anyone who has used the Canon DSLR. You will be able to get acquainted in a short time thanks to the layout of keys, the rotation has become the tradition of the Japanese camera company.

Of course, there are two new details that will make you a little surprised is the Control Ring on the lens and the touch bar Multi-function bar. I usually set the Control Ring for the ISO setting while slide the Multi-function bar to change the focus mode, turn on Eye AF focus according to each situation. After a few days of use, I was able to familiarize myself with these two new control buttons.

The speed of EOS R is really impressive. The whole process of starting, locking, pressing and shooting takes place in a flash. The customizable dots almost cover the entire sensor, and can be viewed on the EVF, and can be selected on the touch-sensitive LCD screen to provide a truly flexible layout. I almost no longer have to use locking techniques and moving the layout.

Even in dark conditions, the human eye is difficult to see, and the EOS R can still focus fast, with very low curvature. Eye AF works reliably, which can follow the eye even when the model does not look straight at the lens, looking tilted or crossed. As a result, portraiture with the EOS R always achieves precise sharpness.

EOS R’s continuous shooting speed of 8 frames per second in single-shot mode and 5 frames per second in continuous-focus mode is not too fast but just enough to capture the fashion scene, street style with the pattern. Walk at a moderate pace. On continuous shooting, face-tracking is still available, but unfortunately EyeFocus is not supported in this mode. The EOS R’s AF Tracking ability is quite good with low shutter speeds.

Noise is controlled very well. Even if the ISO is pushed to 32000, the noise is still acceptable and can be used in small sizes. Only at the ISO level of 40000, new noise starts to appear strong, detail broken.

Two 24-105mm f / 4L RF and 35mm f / 1.8 macro RF lenses satisfy me with fast performance, sharp focus, sharp detail, soft color characteristics. Canon’s so far, especially the color of human skin. They are also the two most compacts in the new 4-lens RF kit for the Canon EOS R. They are ideal for street shooting, travel, mobility, mobility, weight and size.

35mm f / 1.8 macro focal length with a focus range of at least 17cm, 0.5x magnification produces impressive macro shots, detailing the volume. While the 24-105mm f / 4L RF is a true all-in-one lens, it fits just like any EF 24-105mm f / 4 L brother on Canon’s DSLRs, but compact, slightly lighter. This promises to be the mainstream choice for EOS R users in the near future thanks to a good balance between mobility, image quality and versatility.

There is one point to keep in mind when using a 35mm f / 1.8 macro lens, which is a retractable retouching mechanism that produces a great sound, especially in quiet spaces. The lens is also difficult to focus on and can be distorted in backlit situations.

I have not had a chance to experience the EOS R’s 4K video recording capabilities, but some short trial videos showed that Canon was really serious about filming the mirrorless Full Frame. Detail, color, brightness, sharpness, sharpness, and sharpness are all impressive results. The ability to automatically adjust the light when moving from dark areas to bright areas can completely satisfy both the professional hand. Effective anti-shake on the lens is ready to forget that the EOS R has no vibration on the body.
