However, many professionally designed hardware devices are still quite expensive, not affordable for students and those who do not have a plentiful budget to pay for them. Just like the higher-priced Cintiq Pro series, Cintiq 16 uses wireless electromagnetic resonant pen technology, which, in a sense, doesn’t need a battery and never has to be charged. The pen that comes with the Cintiq 16 has 8,192 pressure sensing levels, tilt angle detection, and a series of buttons that can be programmed with optional functions, including a virtual eraser at the tip of the pen.
Cintiq tablet models often act as a second screen for laptops or computers, allowing artists to interact directly with the digital graphics program on the machine through a stylus. Therefore, Cintiq 16 will work well with all graphic and design applications and Wacom supports, including all applications developed by Adobe. But unlike devices with similar features, such as the iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil touch pen, for example, Cintiq 16 is not a standalone computing device. At $ 649, Wacom is clearly trying to compete with Apple, which in the past few years, with Apple Pencil and iPad Pro models, has been giving users a cheaper alternative.
