amazon FIIO FH1S reviews

The Fiio FH1s headset is the latest product from Fiio in the IEM series with an affordable price tag. The FH1s headphones come in two pretty colors, the traditional black and the purple.

Unboxing

The Fiio FH1s headphones have a much more expensive design like the FA7 so that you can see the product’s high-end beauty right from the box.

Here, I will open the box with you and quickly evaluate this FiiO FH1s headset.

Opening the inner cover, the FH1 headphones are neatly placed in the black cover tray. The basic accessories that come with the FH1 sport are also quite simple.

Included accessories include:

Headphone design

About the design of the FH1s headphones with the housing outside the sharp edge of the custom multi-layer Celluloid material. The outside of the housing is transparent to see the relatively large 13.6 mm diameter driver system inside the driver.

The Fiio FH1s headset is easy to wear, compact, and fits well without hurting the listener’s ears. 4.1mm sound pipe, and you should use standard-sized tips with all headphones.

In a typical IEM style, there are two small holes on the IEM housing body to remove the air pressure created by the two dynamic and hybrid BA drivers inside the FH1s.

FH1s headphones are very comfortable to wear. The 2-pin type makes plugging and unplugging easier.

The FiiO FH1s headphones have a hybrid design with dynamic drivers with new copper pipes.

The driver uses a new 13.6mm diameter (3.6mm larger than FH1)’s 10mm with Polymer Bio complex diaphragm material.

Technology

FiiO company uses BA driver, which ensures better bass performance supporting high bass and low, mid reproduction.

Driver BA is also used in FiiO FH1 and has been positively received from previous players.

The FH1s have a moderate 26 Ohms impedance, so they should work well with more universal portable sources and headphone amplifiers.

Headphone sensitivity of 106 DB per 1mW makes it easier for FH1s to be paired with multiple devices, not necessarily. I tried to test the Fiio FH1s earphones on mobile sources, and the quality of the computer or laptop is quite similar.

Detachable signal wire

Fiio FH1s headphones use a 2-pin 0.78 connector instead of the traditional MMCX with pure copper error.

The cable is quite thick without any microphone; the cord is soft to the touch and very flexible. Strong straight 2-pin connector and higher mechanical strength.

The inner wire is split into four cores divided by two sides, and the high purity monocrystalline strings propel your tunes forward.

Compare FiiO FH1s vs. FiiO FH1

A quick comparison on several points 2 headphones FiiO FH1s vs. FH1. With Fiio FH1 headphones using MMCX and FH1S using a 2-pin connection, the connection part of the Fiio FH1s has an advantage. Connecting the circular MMCX on the FH1 when used will limit plugging and unplugging more than 2.

The FH1 comes with two signal wires, one terminated in 2.5mm and one 3.5mm. The FH1s only come with a single 3.5mm wire, but in return, on the FH1S, it is thicker, more solid, flexible, and the signal wire is also more advanced.

In the FH1 package, there are no sponge buttons, so those who listen to less bass will find the fh1 a bit redundant. On FH1s, to expand the music listening needs of users, the company has added this foam sponge.

About the sound quality between these two models, I will analyze with you more closely in the section to find out the sound quality of these two headphones.

Sound quality

I use familiar test tracks such as Alan Walker’s Alone, Adele’s Hello, Hotel California, New Year’s Story with lossless FLAC file quality.

Using Apple iPhone 6, Apple iPhone XS, and Apple Macbook Pro as music sources after burning in FH1s headphones for 48 hours and testing music for one week of experience:

Bass is soft and smooth, not as strong as the old fh1, not deep, quite balanced. Mid-bass is quite a clean, layered and well-defined space.

Mid is stable, suitable for both male and female voices, the tempo is a bit fast, so it is not suitable for slow bolero music. If you want a sweeter and warmer midrange, then use only sponge earplugs.

Treble speed and extension, very modern, very clear shapes and textures can even pass 15 kHz. The sound in this range is clear, detailed, and transparent.

The overall treble sound of the Fiio FH1s is high, the dynamic range of the stage is wide, the singer’s image is mezzanine, easy to listen. Fiio FH1s can listen to multi-music, fast-paced, lyrical just right. The efficiency compared to the FH1 headphones comes from the use of monocrystalline copper high-grade refined copper wire.

Comparing the sound quality, the FH1 has a more violent and powerful bass range than the FH1s.

FH1 can create a listening space closer to the listener; the singer’s image is pushed forward a little bit forward. If you prefer a bigger stage than a deeper soundstage, then the FH1S will meet your needs better.

The treble of the FH1S is clear; the cymbals are sharper, the shape is more defined, there is a bit more thorny than the FH1.

Summary

The Fiio FH1s headphones have a beautiful design with a simple natural custom earmold that deserves an upgrade product for the Fiio FH1.

The sound has a noticeable improvement and change to convince listeners even at the low mid-range price. From low bass notes to higher tones, everything is detailed and has its character.
