amazon FSP Hydro G 850W reviews
Beat box:
The box of Hydro G looks simple but still professional and eye catching. The box provides quite a complete set of essential information for the user to refer to a set of computer sources, features, performance metrics, etc … to be sure of product quality. The user should first see the components inside the power supply in the illustration on the back of the box.
The kit includes a power supply kit, a cable system included (1 cord 24pin on the motherboard, 8pin cord for the CPU, 3 PCIe 6 2pin power wires, 4 Sata / Molex wires), user manual, Fixed source with casing and 2 pairs of stickers so that the user can arbitrarily change the appearance of Hydro G to ton – sur – ton with other components, a slight highlight in the Hydro G.
All Hydro G is coated with a powder coating with a smooth surface, so it fits well with fingerprints. The heat sink fan block is designed to be 45 degrees of homogeneous diagonal lines. Patterns in other areas are also quite similar. The exhaust holes on the side of the support a little bit of cooling ability to keep the fan running smoothly. The “Power never end” slogan as the reliable quality assertion of the power supply is located at the gate port of the system.
Salient features:
80Plus Gold: 80Plus is the standard for evaluating basic computer system power performance of almost all source manufacturers in the world. No matter where the origin of the source comes from, but when it comes to labeling 80Plus, we can evaluate the quality of the source.
For small power source products, the appearance of 80Plus does not affect too much. For the high-power Hydro G series, the arrival of the 80Plus Gold standard will ensure that your power system at 3 loads of 20% 50% and 100% will yield 87%, 90% And 87%. That means you will save a lot of wasted power during operation.
Fully Modular: Design of removable full or removable cable in combination with flat cable has become a trend in high end computer systems because of the flexibility and neatness of wires. When it comes to configuring aesthetically pleasing configurations for the chassis is the part most users are aiming for. In addition, the replacement of the black plastic cable looks very lifeless with the cable wrapped in many colors that look very eye-catching.
The arrangement of the cable gates is quite scientific, the thick cables are inserted, and the small and thin cables are out. This makes routing easier and more messy than some companies also use this design.
Intel Skylake ready: Although not very important but this confirms that all systems on the skylake platform are compatible with this power supply.
Component details:
Hydrostatic Fan: Hydro G is equipped with a heat dissipation fan made by Power Logic with a diameter of 13.5 cm.
Immediately hit the eye at the components are the two primary filters 330 μF 420V of the manufacturer Nippon Chemi-con from Japan.
The circuit is quite clean, especially advertised with quality server can run 24/7
The 3.3V, 5V and 5vsb regulators are designed to be discrete compared to the main PCB to help stabilize the voltage when fully separated from the 12V line.
Intelligent fan speed controllers make the power supply run more smoothly and control system heat dissipation.
Beside the big black heat sink, the small blades are specifically designed for the heat dissipation needs of 12V line controllers. Directly cooled by the fan system

Performance:
Contacting the F14 Test Lab has been quite a long time ahead in the tech community, and we have been working on and testing quite detailed and standardized tests to validate the performance of this power system.
Temperature:
At the temperature test, we let the fan run at an increase of 0-100%. The fan speed is relatively light at loads ranging from 0 to 50% at just 800 rpm and steadily increasing at higher loads up to 100% at 1800 rpm.
The use of a thermal sensor on the power supply shows that the centralized exhaust at the side air intake reaches 51.4 degrees centigrade. The fan cooled area is 40.7 degrees Celsius and the main PCB circuit and components In the right direction, it only reached 43.7 degrees Celsius.
This shows that Hydro G has successfully completed the heat sink for the system with a stable temperature of 40-50 degrees Celsius, which guarantees a long life span for the power supply. That the power loss during the operation of the source is quite low.
Source performance:
We have tried loading at 10%, 20%, 50%, 80% and 100% and try to load only the maximum power on line 12 (CL12) to evaluate the output voltage on each 12V, 5V, 3.3V, 5vsb and -12V
In the 12V and 5V lines, the Hydro G is quite good at ensuring a stable output voltage. However, the 3.3 volts showed a slight drop in pressure at full load. Similar to the 5vsb line there is also a slight decrease in load at 80% and 100%. On the other hand, in the -12V line, the slight decrease occurred at 20% and 50%.
For input voltages, the measured performance is asymptomatic to the 80Plus Gold standard, although there is slight deviation at 10% load.
Overall, with the results at the test lab, we found that this was a reliable source of power when it passed most important reviews.
Summary:
Advantage:
Use high quality components
Low noise <40dB
Low operating temperature for a high power supply
Use a separate flow control circuit
Disadvantages:
Low pressure drop on 3.3V and 5vsb lines on both 80 and 100%.
