amazon Garmin Vivomove 3 reviews

Design and price

With a price of about $250 for all versions of the Garmin Vivomove 3 series, Garmin still gives users a minimalist design that combines the appearance of a traditional watch and the features of a smartwatch.

The slim and lightweight design provides flexibility and comfort for everything from training to meetings and parties. Hidden screen technology with touch is integrated just below the time display and will only be activated when you double-tap the watch face.

Normally, Garmin Vivomove 3 will look no different from a regular watch.

Unlike other devices, Vivomove 3’s hidden screen operation is very responsive and smooth, with no lag, and no false display. Although this is not a traditional touch screen, it has been very good by Garmin.

The weight of this 42mm Garmin Vivomove 3 is also very light at only 35g. The silicone strap isn’t necessarily the most comfortable and beautiful, but it’s certainly still convenient for everyday use and cheaper than the steel strap of the Luxe version.

Work

There is still no built-in GPS on Vivomove 3, so those who want to track the location or request related parameters need to bring their phone so that the watch can connect to the smartphone’s GPS. In return, you get an assortment of overall health and activity tracking such as cycling, walking, exercise, and more.

The exercise tracking interface is also very easy to understand. The minute hand will align with the on-screen heart rate measurement. The same heart rate is divided in color and displayed on the bottom half of the screen to see the time, date, and distance,… depending on the exercise mode you choose.

Functions

This hybrid watch is certainly not comparable to other professional sports watches but it still works correctly if you use it as a running tracker.

In the test when comparing it with the Fitbit Versa 2 – another smartwatch without GPS, their parameters were not much different. But when measuring heart rate, Garmin Vivomove 3 overreported maximum heart rate.

This deviation can sometimes occur because current optical heart rate technology still encounters many objective factors to be able to measure accurately, so we will not discuss this too much.

Just like Fitbit, Garmin also equipped this feature for Vivomove 3. On many different nights when tracking measured parameters, the time to sleep light and get out of bed was done very well. But there is a disparity in waking time and deep sleep time.

The cause is more likely caused by Garmin’s algorithms than the Vivomove 3 watch itself, so Garmin will probably release an update to fix the error as quickly as possible. Also, the most commendable part of the sleep tracking is the light sleep recorded similar to the Fitbit.

Vivomove 3 isn’t built for serious or professional sports people, but it does a great job of offering a combination of smartwatch and health features. There are still some Garmin-exclusive features on this watch.

The first is the Body Battery feature to measure body energy when you may be overworked. Music and Garmin controls are also present. Most importantly, the ability to measure PulseOX only available on high-end Garmin product lines is also favored for Vivomove 3.

Battery life

If you have to compare the battery life of some of today’s hybrid watches with months-long battery life, the Garmin Vivomove 3 can’t compete. According to the announcement, this watch will last about 5 days on a single charge.

This watch also has a battery saver mode that gives you an extra week of use if you can’t charge it in time. But in return, you have to give up their smart features while using clock mode.

Vivomove 3 is not so excellent in this battery life, but it is not worth the disappointment and bad reviews of users that ignore the remaining advantages.

Ending

The Garmin Vivomove 3 deserves to be on the list of the best-looking smartwatches you can own. While there are some points it can’t compare to a smartwatch, it is probably the best hybrid watch on the market today.

This watch will suit those who love a classic look but still want some modern smart features for basic fitness and sports tracking.
