The Gigabyte GV-N75TOC-2GI is based on the Maxwell GM107 graphics core, supporting DirectX 11.2 graphics library and Ultra Durable 2 technology for increased stability. In addition to GPU Boost technology, the card is slightly overclocked for higher performance.
Design
Gigabyte GV-N75TOC-2GI uses GM107 graphics core (Maxwell architecture), “rookie” GeForce 700 series has just been officially Nvidia introduced in market not long ago. The graphics card’s product line was slightly overclocked so the GPU clocked at higher frequencies than the Nvidia standard announced. Specifically, the default clock speed of the GPU is 1.033MHz and can accelerate to 1.111MHz in GPU Boost mode. The card is also equipped with 2GB of GDDR5 with clock frequency of 1,350 MHz and 128 bit of memory interface.
The WindForce 2X cooling technology with two 80mm cooling fans and a large copper heatpipe directly touches the GPU surface to increase heat dissipation. Specifically, in 3DMark graphics tests, the GPU temperature only fluctuated at 55 degrees C, about 9 degrees lower than the two Zotac graphics cards equipped with the GM107 graphics core.
In addition, the GV-N75TOC-2GI is equipped with Ultra Durable 2 technology with quality component components that ensure better reliability, stability and overclocking.
The block diagram above shows that the GM107 graphics core of the GeForce GTX 770 Ti has 5 SMM (Streaming Multiprocessor Maxwell), with 640 CUDA cores in the GTX 750 with only 512 cores. Unlike the Kepler architecture, each Maxwell’s SMM is divided into four smaller processor blocks, each with its own instruction buffer. This helps to better control the energy use of idle CUDA cores while ensuring their availability. With this new design, Nvidia says performance per SMM is up about 35% over the old architecture.
The Gigabyte GV-N75TOC-2GI also features 3D Vision Ready 3D imaging technology with approximately 600 3D games titles and 3D entertainment content. The video outputs include 2 x DVI (dual link) and 2 x HDMI and Nvidia Surround technology to pair three monitors to display images up to 5760 x 1080 pixels resolution for demand. Play games, show movies, or need to work with multiple applications at the same time.
As mentioned above, the card design has been slightly overclocked by the manufacturer, so we still need auxiliary power supply line + 12V 6 pins and power supply 400W to ensure the capacity when operating at high load.
At 20.4 x 14.4 x 4.2 cm and occupying two expansion card slots, the new Gigabyte graphics card is suitable for a wide variety of chassis sizes, especially for the desktop type for compact working space

Evaluate performance
For performance evaluation, Test Lab uses a test configuration built on the Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 motherboard platform, Intel Core i7-4960X processor, Windows 8 Pro 64 bit operating system and driver GeForce 334.89. In addition to the overall performance benchmarking tools 3DMark 11 and Heaven DX11 Benchmark 4.0, Test Lab also uses some DirectX 11 games such as DiRT 3, Alien Vs. Predator and Resident Evil 6 test the graphics performance of the graphics card at 1280×720 pixels (HD 720p) and 1920×1080 pixels (HD 1080p).
The results below show that the GV-N75TOC-2GI can sweep tests with impressive scores. However, at 1920×1080 pixel resolution, the score in the tests dropped significantly as the GPU GeForce GTX 750 and GeForce GTX 750 Ti design emphasized the efficient use of Maxwell’s power.
The need for additional sources and power requirements of up to 400W make the graphics card model better results in the tests. In contrast, in terms of power usage, the GV-N75TOC-2GI also consumes more power than some GeForce GTX 750 Ti graphics cards. Specifically in the 3DMark test, the experimental configuration consumed 212.9W while the two samples of ZOTAC cards were 215.4 and 216.1W respectively (highest value).
With GV-N75TOC-2GI games, the GIGABYTE GA-N75TOC-2GI is also a good performer, delivering up to 30 fps video at full HD resolution with enhanced graphics quality. The highest level, such as with Alien Vs Predator is 37.2 fps and DiRT 3 is 51 fps. Similarly, by pushing Resident Evil 6’s graphics quality to the highest level, the test card still demonstrates strength through the number of processing frames and no lag occurred during the test.
Temperature, power consumption
Test the graphics card thermal capabilities and test configuration consumption power (excluding monitors) through 3DMark 11 graphics tests, system temperature and power recorded through GPU-z software and Logger Lite in normal environment (about 29 – 30 degrees Celsius).
In no-load mode, the GPU temperature fluctuates at 32 degrees Celsius, fan runs smoothly at 1.670 rpm. The power consumption of the test configuration is 82.3W, calculated as averages. In 3DMark graphics tests, the use of heat dissipation technology has proven to be effective, the fan running smoothly, the GPU temperature only fluctuates at 55 degrees C, about 9 degrees lower than Two samples of Zotac graphics card.
