Immortals Fenyx Rising – The end of 2020 is probably Ubisoft’s busiest month. The company has released 4 AAA titles in less than two months, including Just Dance 2021, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, and Immortals Fenyx Rising.

However, with the tradition and the recent scandals, can fan trust the French giant?

Let’s find out through the following article about Immortals Fenyx Rising, a product that also belongs to AAA but is less “cared for” than Ubisoft’s “brothers”!

If you want to find something new, if you want to find a game where you can say “wow!” or a difference, Immortals Fenyx Rising is probably not for you.

If you want to find an “instant noodle” game, an easy-to-understand story, an “easy to grasp, addictive” gameplay, then Immortals Fenyx Rising does it surprisingly effectively!

If you’ve played through Assassin’s Creed Odyssey or any of Ubisoft’s recent games, it doesn’t take too long for players to get used to the mechanics of Immortals Fenyx Rising.

At the beginning of the game, after listening to Zeus and Prometheus “chatter” for a few minutes, the player is released on an isolated island and becomes a hero (optional male or female) to save the world.

From now on, you will know your mission is to defeat Typhoon – a powerful Titan (giant) imprisoned by the gods, has now escaped and is cooking a plan to destroy the gods of Olympus.

However, Typhoon can wait as long as you want because the game is quite comfortable doing what you want to do, finish the story first or go around and explore the map first!

If you choose the latter, there is no shortage of activities that you can do in the game, from fighting monsters lying everywhere, scuba diving to explore the ruins, climbing mountains, sightseeing, riding deer, horses.

And of course, exploring the Vaults and “unlocking” power-ups and items is also one of the fun side activities!

Vaults are scattered across the map and are also the place where Typhoons trap their gods or holy objects.

But that doesn’t mean that you need to rush in, kill all the guards and bring home the reward; you also have to read the star map, throw stones, shoot fire, spray water, pull the switch in general, must use the brain puzzle to complete the challenges given.

The Vaults are also divided in difficulty from 1 to 3 stars; if they can’t be completed, that’s okay; there’s no punishment given to the player except frustration, tossing, and turning everyday night.

If you’re a “brute” player, you can try to “relieve stress” by clearing out the monsters that like to “take the amount of pressure.”

The fighting style of the game is almost “hack-n-slash,” press two buttons to form an effective chain of moves!

However, that quickly gets boring, so Immortals Fenyx Rising also includes two mechanics to keep you interested in the game: fend off and dodge.

For predictable attacks, the block seems to be the most effective; besides blocking damage from enemies, you can also reflect damage to them and lower the enemy’s mana bar enemies quickly (when the mana bar runs out, the enemy will be “stunned”).

Meanwhile, dodging when reaching the correct level will help the player stay in slow motion before the enemy; the unbelievable flips also come here.

Along with “making fun of cleaning,” players will experience recreational activities such as mountain climbing and catching mounts.

The mounts in the game are mostly horses and deer, but if you’re lucky (or use “help”), you can catch unicorns or winged horses.

Each type of mount will have different uses, like the silver deer will have a longer stamina bar, or the lightning horse (Bolt) will run faster…

The game’s graphics are also made quite nice; due to hardware limitations, players can only stop at Medium 60fps, but that is also called “temporary” enough to experience the “poetry” that Immortals Fenyx Rising wants to bring.

Don’t be fooled by the game’s “cartoon” appearance; Immortals Fenyx Rising is equipped with most modern graphics technologies such as depth of field, interaction with shadows, ambient light…

You will be “overwhelmed” by the sunset on the sea, the golden sun on the War Den, the overlapping rows of grass, the murmuring water flowing in the spring valley…

Those who love Greek culture or Greek mythology will feel the island of gods living before their eyes.

The music in the game also has a mythological influence and is not completely “lost” with dialogue cutscenes or sudden appearances in the game.

Environmental sounds such as bow pulling, falling, rustling leaves, animal sounds are very powerful and effective.

I don’t know how many times Ubisoft has been reflected for its excessive “cooking” from one game to another.

Almost every movement of Immortals Fenyx Rising is made from the original “brothers” (Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla).

From gait, riding, climbing to falling, hiding, or attacking are all the same… hairs (sometimes even inferior in practicality).

If the movement of the brother set in Greece (Assassin’s Creed Odyssey) is beautiful or perfect, then not to say, over here, it is extremely rough and has not been a trend for more than two years.

When the whole world is running in a “minimized” motion, the main character of Immortals Fenyx Rising is like a schoolboy studying to be a warrior.

With Immortals Fenyx Rising, running is simply raising your arms higher and walking faster; swimming is simply “flattening your arms,” pushing a rock or holding a sword is like holding a plastic toy; I can’t feel the weight inside at all.

The plot, which should have seemed interesting with the jokes between Zeus and Prometheus, is more annoying when some segments are quite excessive and ungainly.

There is also a bonus point: the game has boldly abandoned the “half-season” dialogue selection mechanism and helps players focus on their story more.

The game also omits everything to a minimum, such as the only weapon left to hit quickly, an ax to hit hard, a bow for you to hit far, and… all.

The skill store is also much poorer, most of them are basic skills, and you need to upgrade them during the adventure; there is nothing to naughty or “headache” to find the upgrade direction.

And compared to the game Immortals Fenyx Rising inspired by The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of The Wild, the level of discovery is like a “joke.”

Are you short of items?

Take two steps, and you will see a treasure chest!

Missing amount?

Go two steps and press A; a horse will be yours (the manufacturer is so “lazy” that it sit on the back, and the horse is yours, no need to tame anything).

The stamina tree is not that important when the mountains are so convenient that the “rest cliff” is full, and you have to climb there and wait a bit for your stamina to recover.

Even the thing that interests the writer is the Vault, which repeatedly repeats, “lift this rock, fly to that ladder, fight monsters,” and after fighting Medusa and rescuing Athena, no longer interested in exploring or solving puzzles…

Everything in Immortals Fenyx Rising is solved too simply, too quickly, leading to not much replay value of the game.
