Instructions for connecting and installing Xprinter Wifi receipt printer

Rate this post

Now receipt printers have many types and models. Accompanied by new features that are more convenient in work and use environments. A wifi receipt printer is an example. A Wi-Fi connection allows you to place the receipt printer anywhere and print anywhere. If you already own a receipt printer with wifi connectivity but don’t know how to connect, this article will help you connect easily.

The first thing when you want to connect and install a wifi receipt printer is to check and change the thermal printer IP to the same IP network range as the wifi network to be installed.

Check the thermal printer’s IP

Each thermal printer has a pre-set IP address for identification, usually with thermal printers such as Xprinter, Antech, Antec, or Gprinter… usually: 192.168.123.100 or 192.168.1.100. If this IP range (including the first 3 groups such as 192.168.123 and 192.168.1) matches the LAN IP range, you can immediately install the thermal printer, otherwise, you have to change them to the same range, and usually Change the IP of the thermal printer.

First, you need to check what the thermal printer’s IP is, by printing a test ticket with the following operations:

Power off the printer

Press and hold the “FEED” button.

Still, hold the “FEED” button and turn on the printer power with one hand as shown below (depending on the type of machine, the buttons may be in different positions).

As a result, a piece of paper will be printed as below, and check that the IP address section is the printer IP address, for example here it is 192.168.123.100.

Check the Wifi network IP to connect to

Go to the Control Panel interface

Select (1) View network status and tasks> Check if the network is connected to (2) wifi > View details (3) the currently connected network > View the IP address (4) of the Wifi network the computer is currently connected to.

If the IP address (first 9 numbers) of the Wifi network (the computer is using) matches the printer’s IP address, then move on to part 2 to install the driver below. If the difference is as above, you need to change the thermal printer’s IP (currently 192.168.123.100) to the same Wifi network IP range according to the steps below.

Connect the thermal printer to the Wifi network

To be able to change the thermal printer IP, you first need to access it as follows

Plug the USB cable directly from the thermal printer and computer in use

Download the Xprinter-V3.0C printer setup application here, unzip, and run the application

In the unzipped folder there will be an XPrinter V3.0C folder.

The program will display a window and you need to do the following:

  1. Select the model as “XP-80”.
  2. Select the connection port as “USB”.
  3. Click the Print button to see if the machine is connected and running well
  4. After checking item 3 on the connected and running machine, click on the “Advanced” option:

Click on “Set Net” to connect to the Wifi network.

  1. Set the printer’s IP address (must ensure the same IP address as the network checked above, but must be different from the last 3 numbers, for example here need to change to 192.168.1.000).
  2. Set the Subnet Mask of the wifi network to connect to, usually 255.255.255.0.
  3. Set up the network’s Gateway, usually the same IP address as above with the last number being 1; For example, the format is 192.168.1.1.
  4. Enter the name of the wifi network to connect to, for example here it is Printer001 network
  5. Fill in the password to access the wifi network
  6. Wifi network encryption is usually WPA2_AES_PSK by default
  7. After filling in the above information, click “Setting all” to save the settings. The printer will beep to acknowledge. Restart the printer (if it doesn’t restart automatically), and wait about 30 – 60 seconds, the machine will automatically print a print ticket as below to notify that it has successfully connected to the wifi network.

Install the printer driver on the computer

For the machine to run properly, you need to use the correct driver for the printer you are using, usually, the driver that comes with the printer. For Xpinter printers, you can download the Xprinter Driver Setup V7.77 driver here.

After downloading and installing successfully. Launch Xpinter Driver Setup V7.77 software and do the following steps:

Select the operating system you are using

Select connection standard

Select printer standard

Install Now

In the next step:

Select Addport (1) / Standard TCP/IP Port (2) / New Port… (3)/ Enter the printer’s IP (IP address as in the step above) /Next

The computer will then search and connect to that IP address. If it is correct, just click Next to continue and Finish to finish the installation process.

When the installation process is finished, the printer’s Ports tab will have the printer’s IP address if it matches the original address you installed. Congratulations on your success, and try printing it to enjoy the results.

Install with phone, tablet

For phones and tablets, similar to computers, connect the device and printer to the same network, depending on the sales software you use, find the option Printer settings (or similar ) enter the printer’s IP address, and connect to print. (For some software or device types, there will be an option to automatically search for printers).
