Instructions to optimize Cyberpunk 2077 performance, increase 7-10 FPS for weak machines!

Do you have a weak computer but still want to play Cyberpunk 2077? Are you afraid to download the optimal tool online for fear of malware? If so, then the following trick from The Rad Elk promises to help: Just patiently edit the ini file, and you’re done, no need to download anything, basically safe.

Here are detailed instructions for you to try:

Step 1: Access the path [Hard drive

name]:Cyberpunk2077engineconfigplatformpc. Create a new Text Document file

with the name User.ini, accept the file name change. Just make it look like the

other .ini files in the directory.

Note: The file you have created must be User.ini instead

of User.ini.txt (the default extension of the Text Document file). Go to the

View tab > File name extensions to control the file name.

Step 2: Open this link to lead to the Pastebin website

containing the optimal installation options for the game. We will now have two

optimal options:

– Max Boost: Maximize performance, recommended with configuration running GTX 1060 graphics down

– Balanced: Balance between performance and image quality (However, according to personal experience, Balanced images are not significantly different from Max Boost)

To apply Max Boost, copy from line 5 to line 57 in the Pastebin file, then paste it back into the User.ini file and Ctrl + S to save it. As for Balanced, you do the same; copy from line 64 to line 118.

You need to tweak the settings of Cyberpunk 2077, now open the game and enjoy the results. I also tested it on the existing Lenovo Legion 5 AMD version, and because the machine is not too powerful, this is also a pretty effective reference base for weak configuration.

Test configuration:

– CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 4600H

– Graphics card: NVIDIA GTX 1650 4GB

– RAM: 16GB

Setting my game to 1080p + High Settings and tweaking helped me increase FPS from about 31 (not using the tool) to 40-42 FPS depending on the scene. So about 7-10 FPS improvement, generally quite good.

WHEN I RUN AWAY FROM THE ENEMY’S BULLETS, this FPS increase is also quite stable in the battle scenes. Moreover, I don’t see the image quality changing too much; it generally does not affect the experience.

I also tried it with a high-performance NZXT H1 case running i9-10900K + RTX 3060Ti. However, it seems that the performance has not changed too much with the 4K + Ray Tracing: Ultra settings. But anyway, this tweaking is only for weak machines.

Of course, the high FPS increase will depend on your configuration, and the resolution used when playing Cyberpunk 2077. Some configurations will have a marked increase in FPS, but configurations will not change anything. In general, maybe this will help, but we should not expect too much from it for the time being.

However, to experience the best “baby” of CD Projekt RED, the best way will still be… upgrade the hardware. For those of you who don’t have enough money, the above tweaks will be great salvation at present.
