Last time, we got our hands on a NUC product based on the 10th Gen Intel Core i3 processor. This time, Intel’s NUC system is back again with its Core i5 processor version, but a complete version that includes both DDR4 RAM and PCIe SSD storage – Intel NUCi5FNH.

NUCi5 is the product line between the popular i3 and high-end i7. It is based on a quad-core Comet Lake i5 processor with UHD Graphics 620 graphics.
It is also available in NUCi5FNK and NUCi5FNH variants. The NUCi5FNK’s case is thinner and only 36mm tall, while the NUCi5FNH is 51mm tall. This difference is due to the addition of a 2.5-inch SATA drive tray. Also, the other components, including the motherboard and CPU, are the same.

Maybe we are not too unfamiliar with the design of Intel’s NUCs. Still, a compact format can fit in a hidden corner or be hung in any position you want.
As usual, NUC10i5FNH is sold as a barebone without RAM or SSD. You will need to purchase these two additional components and install them in the system.

After the tower cap, you will immediately be able to manipulate the NUC’s mainboard. There are two SO-DIMM slots on the bottom half of the picture and an M.2 slot on top. The M.2 slot supports two forms of 2280 and 2240.

On the other side, after disassembling the radiator fan, you will see a radiator with two copper pipes and cooling aluminum foil. This heatsink will completely cool both the CPU and iGPU.
To evaluate the performance of Intel NUC10i5FNH, we add a 256GB Intel SSD 760 storage drive and two Kingston SO-DIMM DDR4-2666 memory modules.

After a period of use and experience with this version, this can completely be an ideal replacement for a home and office computer system if you do not need to play games or heavy tasks. The assembly quality is not discussed, the device is compact, the fan is not too loud.
