First felt when holding onto a USB stick it is apparently too small for my fingers. If previously DataTraveler SE9 impressed by less than 4cm in length, now 25,6mm x 16,7mm x 8,4mm size and weighs only 4gram, DT Micro will make you amazed. Even, this device also beaten the DataTraveler 108 (length 37,3mm), which had been the smallest product line USB Flash Drives Personal of Kingston. I have compared the DT Micro with other familiar items, and the results are convincing: It is possible to fit on a SD memory card, and only marginally more than the Micro SD.
Kingston has made a good impression with me because the device has a simple design but still looks quite beautiful and luxurious. Holding the device, I’m not too surprised when a USB stick is carefully tended to every detail, and almost impossible to find out any technical flaws do even the smallest of its production .

Real test
Kington DataTraveler Micro has two 8GB and 16GB capacities, manufacturers are preformatted FAT32. At 8GB version I tested, Windows 7 get 7.31 GB of free disk space.
In the test the speed of read/write of the DT Micro, I used four benchmark familiar software: ATTO Disk Benchmark, HD Tach, HD Tune Pro and Crystal DiskMark on the Dell Inspiron 15R N5010 (Processor Intel Core i5 480m, RAM 4GB DDR3, graphics card Mobility Radeon HD 5650 1GB).
Results returned from the software HD Tune Pro shows read and write speeds of Kingston DataTraveler Micro average turn around 16,7MB/sec and 3,6MB/sec. Upon seeing this parameter, I was blown away because the speed of read/write of the DT Micro is slow. While extremely affordable product line with other Personal of Kingston as Kington DataTraveler 109 and Kington DataTraveler 101 with the speed of approximately 22MB/sec (read) and 6MB – 9MB / sec (write), the DT Micro is a disappointing only speeds 16.7 MB / s – 3,6MB / sec.
ATTO Disk Benchmark Measurement results are similar: chart unstable fluctuations, higher write speeds initially but later re maintained at a low level, and low initial reading speed, and later maintained at a high level . However, “high” here is just a review of the index of the chart, but the speed of read/write ATTO Disk Benchmark is measured 17,4MB/sec – 4,4MB/sec is not comparable with the USB Kingston along other lines.
To be more careful, I brought DT Micro to the PC with similar specs but uses i7-740QM processor 1,73GHz. Results generally remained at approximately 16,8MB/sec (read) and 4,4MB/sec (write).
In practical tests, I copy the folder 1,04GB containing 308 JPG files and .mkv files 1,87GB. For both .mkv files and folders 308 photos, copy speed from PC to USB only about 3,5MB / sec. Speed copy files from USB to the computer seems to get better with 16,3MB / s.
Deeming it to a data storage device using USB 2.0, 8GB of storage, speed read / write not as high as i expected. Users will take a lot of time to fully copy the DataTraveler Micro.
After a trial period, the operating temperature of the DT Micro has increased slightly from normal. But you can ignore this detail, because the temperature allowed according to information from the manufacturer is from 0-60 degrees C.
Conclude
Overall, the Kingston DataTraveler Micro was really impressed at the size and details of the products. However, for the same device, the DT Micro segment yet to gain a good view of the speed of read / write data. Kingston DataTraveler Micro is probably only for those who are more free time and only fancy aesthetics.

– Speed read / write slowly.
– Designing an open / close lid is easy to make the cap is lost.
