Open the box

As mentioned in the MX2 Pro review, the entire MX Pro series uses the same box design, with each version has a different dominant color, with MX3 Pro red personality!

We still have introductory notes, additional tips, and a quick assessment of the sound on the back. It seems that the MX3 Pro will be a pair of headphones that point towards the mid-range, the singer’s voice.
In the box, we have a wire with a microphone and a zipper lockbox.
The MX3 Pro’s kit is still the same as the MX2 Pro and is like the MX1 Pro always: 4 rubber buffers, a sponge, hook pants for 6.3mm boxes, and jacks. That is a complete set of accessories, so even with a high-end pair of earbuds like the MX3 Pro, I have no complaints.

Design

MX3 Pro, although it still retains the same design philosophy as the MX1 Pro and MX2 Pro 2 lines, instead of using public housing, there are new housing, a little thicker to put a larger amount of drivers. The praiseworthy point is that this housing is still comfortable to wear.
The version I have here is black housing, so I can not see the driver by image. But seeing with the naked eye, we can see 2 Balance Armature films placed closer to the sound tube, while Dynamic is placed in the back, quite similar to MX2 Pro’s arrangement.

The faceplate is still removable, can be replaced with an acrylic or metal faceplate to show the user’s personality.
The wire section is like a headset, with reinforced pins that are slightly thicker than MX1 Pro and MX2 Pro. This difference does not affect the daily use process and helps users feel more secure if they plan to use long term.

The headset still retains the IPX5 waterproof standard, so users can wear it for exercise or use in the rain without fear of being damaged. This standard is not enough to immerse for a long time, so do not take a swim or wash your headphones by putting them in a glass of water!

Sound quality

As mentioned at the beginning of the article, MX3 Pro is considered a ‘premium’ pair of headphones when touching the recommended $ 150 price threshold, so users also have certain expectations about sound quality. That is also the first product in the MX Pro series with a larger number of Balance Armature than Dynamic, so what will the experience look like?

The MX3 Pro still retains the rich and warm sound of Mee Audio in general and the MX Pro in particular. But the difference between these two headphones is that compared to the two juniors we’ve learned, the company no longer presses too hard on the bass range but focuses on ‘hitting’ the middle band. Even in the sound quality assessment board outside this pair of headphones, it was clear, MX3 Pro was made for the guitarists and singers to sing!

That doesn’t mean that the MX3 Pro has a weak bass because we still have a full bass, perfectly floating on the background. But by giving way to the mid and treble, the bass is no longer the main strip and has been pushed slightly behind. It will only show up when the song is available, not on par with the other two bands like MX1 and MX2 Pro. The MX3 Pro’s bass playing is quite solid, not rigid, and too punchy because of its softness and down to the sub-bass. Complete ears can still play Dance, Pop songs comfortably with this bass, but the adjustment helps it “sing” the vocalist better than two low-end headphones.

The point I feel like in MX2 Pro, and still going on at MX3 Pro, is that even though I use Balance Armature, the mid-quality of Mee headphones is still like Dynamic: thick, warm, and not sibilance too heavy. On the MX3 Pro, the biggest upgrade point lies in the detail level in the vocals. Voice of Vitas – Dedication is closer to the listener, along with every voice taking, small mouthing appears more clearly than MX2 Pro. The high-mid part goes up well, but it seems to eliminate the sibilance thoroughly at MX2 Pro. That is not a big problem at MX2 Pro, but the MX3 Pro does better anyway, which is commendable.

Band, I feel there is an upgrade, but it can be said that ‘not enough’ is the treble band. Without being overwhelmed by bass like two low-end products, Treble has a wider playing space and a slightly better brightness. But just as the company gives the sound chart, the Treble is the sound band for the middle range, not striking on the whole sound, and when it comes to practical experience, this is true.

Conclude

In response to the question posed at the beginning of the article, MEE audio MX3 Pro deserves a ‘penetrating’ price into its high-end segment. The headset has a more rugged exterior design, still retains the characteristic modularity of the MX Pro series, accompanied by a somewhat more mature, clean, and detailed sound quality. Compared to 2 pairs of low-range headphones, MX1 Pro and MX2 Pro. The negative range that I want the company to do slightly more is the high range, which seems to be significantly improved in the ‘end-boss product MX4 Pro.

Advantages
– Sturdy finish, water-resistant
– The wire part has been reinforced
– Wear comfortable, even bigger housing
– Full set of accessories
– Sound quality is bold but clean, with mid improved a lot
– Better detail than MX1 Pro and MX2 Pro

Disadvantages
– Can still push the Treble a bit more
