Design

At first glance looking at the Microsoft Lumia 435 I was also wrong with the Nokia X, it is almost the same almost no difference so I think that when the Lumia 435 is the Windows Phone version of Nokia and Microsoft has used the Nokia production line X to produce Lumia 435 to save costs (this is my assumption, not sure right). The machine also owns a small body, a bit thick but also quite lovely. Covered by a green banana-color polycarbonate shell (Microsoft has four color options but I chose this color because it highlights). The front of the machine has a compact 4-inch screen, Microsoft logo, three navigation keys of Windows Phone including Back button, Home button and Search button is Out of the screen is not like the Nokia Lumia 730. The screen surface of the machine is quite thick, but with such cheap price is also acceptable and I also can not ask for more. Above the logo is a light sensor, proximity sensor, center speaker and a front camera. Overall the camera looks quite balanced and I rated it okay.

The back of the machine is much simpler with only the rear camera, the Microsoft logo running alongside the camera body and the speakerphone, all placed perfectly proportionate. There is also a detail that differentiates his Lumia from the other. Lumia 435 cracks from the lower right corner of the machine. It is often said smartphone is often fragile but with Lumia 435 this does not seem very true.

The left side of the machine is completely empty while the right side focuses on the volume up/down key and the power button, without the camera button on the previous Windows Phone model, feeling comfortable press not too shallow.

The handset feels quite handy due to its four curves but less curved due to the curved side of the side giving a more rounded feel. However, this back is quite easy to scratch and when dirty is not easy to scrub.

The ability to remove the battery is also noticeable on the Microsoft Lumia 435 smartphone has gradually switched to monolithic design. Even though it removes the battery, it does not mean that the creaking machine is not so sure because the shell itself covers the sides instead of covering the back like other smartphones.

Removable battery can replace SIM, memory card easily, also unfortunately can not replace hot. The machine has 2 SIM, microSIM and memory card support up to 128 GB.

The overall design, the grip is certainly a little handy but not too uncomfortable. A compliment to Microsoft.

Screen

If the design is a compliment, the screen is the point I do not like very much on the Lumia 435. The device owns a 4-inch screen, 800 x 480 pixel resolution with a pixel density of 233 ppi. This is the common resolution of cheap phones, for the relatively sharp but can not be as smooth as the higher but acceptable machine. Machines do not use the IPS panel is just a normal LCD, without ClearBlack technology also somewhat reduced the quality of the screen. The brightness of the screen is sufficient for indoor use, but when exposed to sunlight, due to its low contrast, the glossy screen is slightly difficult to see. When holding a vertical camera, the viewing angle of both sides of the screen is good, but the viewing angle is narrower, and the color changes much when viewed tilt. This disadvantage affects many activities such as playing games, watching movies, especially when watching many people have to sit at the side of the screen is nothing more uncomfortable. Even though it has a lot of praise, it has to compensate for the price, although the machine is cheap but possesses a light sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness without manual adjustment.

As shown on the picture, the Lumia 435’s lowest brightness of all, the highest blackness, the lowest contrast, but the lowest color accuracy as well as the non-basic color accuracy. Also not too high, the color temperature is pretty close to 6500K compared to other machines showing a commendable effort to bring the best quality display possible at cheap Microsoft prices. Generally speaking, in terms of price, we can not ask for anything but it generally satisfies the daily needs. In addition, the machine is 5 points sensitive enough to meet the game requires a multitouch, the touch is quite smooth not hiss.

Software

When it comes to Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, the look of this interface is different than other operating systems with very animated display titles, I personally prefer this interface. Because tiles can update information in real time as well as edit the size to create a unique interface unlike anyone. Swipe to the right is a list of alphabetical app titles that are handy for searching. However, the setting interface is quite confusing, there is no illustration that looks very monotonous and uncomfortable.

Microsoft does not seem to be very good at promising to postpone the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade schedule, which is frustrating to many users, but the wait is finally paying off as the Lumia machines have been up lately. Windows 10 Mobile and Lumia 435 are no exception. The feeling of the new version is very satisfying because Windows 10 Mobile is a breakthrough but maintains the nature of Windows Phone while maintaining the tile style interface but has a good darkness. Users can now set full wallpaper, the spacing between small tiles to create a more seamless feel, action and notification bar is also refreshed to bring more convenience. Most importantly, the settings interface has been streamlined and has a simpler but generally better image than the 8.1 version. In addition, Microsoft has redone the interface of its software looks simple and beautiful pretty much as Store, Music, dial interface … Microsoft also integrates Skype and Onedrive deeper than the 8.1, which makes use of Simple and convenient.

But the biggest weakness of Windows Phone ever and up to 10 is still largely unresolved is the app store. Probably due to the later development and Microsoft’s programmer support policy as well as the small number of users have made the Windows Phone app store much poorer compared to the App Store and Google Play. When I use 8.1, I get frustrated with no official Facebook app, Instagram, and other important games like Clash of Clan when I’m on Android, it’s up to version 10 to fix some but still A lot of issues about the app store. Not to mention, perhaps Microsoft’s app censorship policy is too loose. The app stores both redundant and missing: Missing apps that are important, but they’re junk.

Performance

The machine is equipped with a dual-core Snapdragon processor with 1GB of RAM. If the configuration is applied to the Android machine then perhaps it was eliminated from the car round. The Lumia 435 surprised me with such a modest configuration that can give you a smooth experience, less jerk. When tested with games like Asphalt 8, Jetpack Joyride or Temple Run, the game is less jerky or dropped frames, it is almost impossible for the same price Android. Good experience can not help but mention Microsoft’s best software effort when trying to maximize machine performance. But there is also the other side, the app on Windows Phone load is quite slow, especially the game (depending on the software that load time is fast or slow), the app splash rate is not without and solid. Distinguished app heavyweight probability splash is much higher. When surfing web pages with multiple images, jerky lag is unavoidable.

The machine’s multitasking capabilities are also temporary, not excelling when more than half the app has to reload due to limited 1GB of RAM.

Camera

Probably because it had to be sold at a low price, Microsoft was a bit too strong for most of the camera specifications. The Lumia 435 has a 2MP rear-facing camera with fixed focus, no flash. The photos are 1600×1200 resolution for pale colors, lacking details and when zooming again, oh my god, there is a holy look. Video recording is only 480p resolution not sharp enough. The only consolation point is that the camera is equipped with a VGA resolution camera just enough to serve the Skype chat or video call. In general, the camera is only equipped but it is not very useful.

The camera interface allows the camera to adjust the white balance, ISO, shutter speed and brightness of the image, but it does not seem to make the picture look good.

Battery life

The Lumia 435 uses a 1560mAh lithium ion battery, along with a mid-range display as well as a non-powerful processor, which can hold for a day at normal strengths. When I play more games, the battery will drop faster, then will have to plug the charger two times a day. In the process of using the machine is relatively cool because the shell is less heat, but when using 3G, the machine is very hot, longtime will feel uncomfortable.
