This compact Windows tablet brings reasonable upgrades to solve many of the problems that existed on the original Surface Go, but nothing is perfect. The screen is larger, has faster processor options, and both make the Surface Go better than ever.

It starts at $ 399.99, but you will have to pay even more because buying the Surface Go 2 without purchasing a keyboard ($ 100) is silly. The price is very important, as it puts the Surface Go 2 in a league of its own: while the announced $ 399.99 price tag sounds pretty cheap, it’s about the same price as the one new iPad that comes with keyboard accessories, a powerful Chromebook, a refurbished Surface Pro (or on sale), or a regular mid-range Windows laptop.

Almost all of these models are “better” than the Go 2 in some important areas, compared to the upgraded version.
“Slow” is not the exact word to describe the performance of the Surface Go 2, at least for the Core M3. When you run single tasks that match the Go 2 configuration, things are pretty smooth. Surface Go has a “very low-performance threshold” that is more accurate. If you try to run too many applications or a single application but consume too many resources, the machine will signal by standing still for a few seconds.
