Design

Thick and heavy are the first impressions of the Oukitel K8000. With a battery life of up to 8000 mAh, it’s easy to understand when the product is about the same thickness and weight as the other smartphones (10.7mm body weight and 232.8g weight). In return, it is the measurement of the size of the handle very good. The whole body is made of metal, rough and smooth, machined to feel solid, seamless. The version of BiaReview on the hand is cobalt blue fancy, quite similar to the blue version of the Huawei Nova 2i that we recently assessed.

The dual camera clusters and the flash fits well when the manufacturer adds a Dual Camera logo to create a balance. Detail of the power button is also carved with carved images and red paint helps to create a highlight for the design, while increasing the friction, making the operation more convenient, avoid confusion with the key volume.

MiroUSB port and loudspeaker are well balanced even with only a true speaker stripe on the right and the rest of the speaker strings are only decorative and contain mic.

However, on the back, there are still not beautiful details. For example, the Oukitel logo is a little rough or two black plastic stripes to make a thick antenna line, occupying a lot of space, and not comfortable on the cobalt blue of the entire body. The interface between the back, the chassis and the screen has a small hand grip and makes the machine inoperable.

On the front, the Oukitel K8000 looks sleek with a 2.5D curved glass that is bent at all four edges, plus the striking color of the cobalt blue that gives the machine more shimmer and create its own unique features. At first glance, the front of this product has many similarities with the Galaxy Note due to the way the fingerprint sensor in front. It is noteworthy that the Oukitel K8000 uses Dragontrail Glass, not Gorilla Glass.

Screen

In terms of visibility, the Oukitel K8000 is noticeable when using Samsung’s 5.5-inch AMOLED screen. The AMOLED screen will significantly save energy compared to traditional LCD monitors and maximize the effect of the 8000 mAh battery. The fast experience shows that the K8000’s screen has high brightness, contrast, excellent viewing angles, The deep black color of the AMOLED display. But, the screen has a dazzlingly bright color, the hot tones pushed up so strong that the screen becomes flamboyant. Unfortunately, the resolution of the machine only stopped at 720p, so the image is not sharp, slightly blurry.

Camera

The K8000 is equipped with a dual-camera camera on the back with a 16MP main camera and a 2MP secondary camera to record the depth of field, allowing photographers to remove the background. The front side is a 13MP wide-angle 80-degree camera for selfie purposes. The camera interface is simple, easy to use with each item lined up and swapped back and forth by swiping right, similar to the camera of the iOS device. In addition to the unique Blur mode that allows you to adjust the background blur and the blurring size, the camera also comes with its own mono and manual modes.

Experience shows that the camera quality is average, the ability to delete the background is awkward, less natural. The effect of erasing the font looks like merely applying the software blurring effect, but not the entirety of the camera capture depth.

Performance

The K8000’s configuration is not bad with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal memory (with memory card slot) and a MediaTek MT6750T processor with eight Cortex-A53 quad-core CPUs up to 1.5 GHz, 28nm comes with Mali-T860 MP2 graphics core. The MediaTek MT6750T has been used on a number of mid-range models such as Oppo F1s, Oppo F3, Vivo V5, and so on, and it has good performance, especially when the screen is 720p.

The basic operations such as opening applications, switching between the app are for speed agility. Playing familiar titles like Mobile Alliance, Crossfire Legend did not have any jarring issues. Even when playing heavier titles such as Dead Trigger 2, Warhammer Freeblade, Oukitel K8000 still meet the average graphics.

Software

With Android 7 installed, Oukitel almost exclusively uses what Google offers and does not customize too much in terms of its interface or features. It has been refined a bit of icon set of system applications such as camera, call, contacts, messaging style slightly “similar” interface Samsung Experience on the Galaxy machine recently.

Screen splitting features, built-in Google Assistant virtual assistant, App Drawer app tray retained.

Oukitel adds a number of additional features such as the ability to customize screen parameters including color, contrast, saturation, color temperature, etc. through the familiar MiraVision tool on the MediaTek. Some smart gestures like double-tap to open the screen, draw the letters when the screen is off to quickly open the app also appears …

Battery life

With a battery of up to 8000 mAh, double the size of the current smartphone market and comparable to the redundant charger, plus the use of AMOLED screen, Oukitel confidently declared K8000 Can be used for up to 5 days continuously to be charged at basic intensity.

The Oukitel K8000 can also watch 25 hours of online or offline video, 20 hours of continuous gaming, up to 27 hours for take photo, and music playback 20 hours or 14 hours of record video.

The company did not elaborate on the test method but with the standard BiaReview video tester that gave the player a continuous playback of an HD movie in brightness setting at 70%, a volume of 70% The Oukitel K8000 comes in at 25 hours and 42 minutes, breaking the 25-hour, 25-minute record for the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro with a 5000 mAh battery.

However, when we tested YouTube with 100% screen brightness, the 100% volume played through the speakerphone, the Oukitel K8000 only reached 15 hours.

With the BiaReview Web surfing test under 70% screen brightness, from full battery to 10%, the Oukitel K8000 only reached 10 hours, much less than the other. Other smartphone batteries like Xiaomi Mi Max (12 hours 10 minutes), Mi Max 2 (14 hours 27 minutes) or Galaxy A9 Pro (23 hours 25 minutes).

With the usual use of the writers, mainly YouTube, surfing, Facebook, Messenger chat over WiFi, Oukitel K8000 can stand for about 2 days to charge with the screen brightness from 11 to 12 hours.

It comes with a Pump Express 2.0 quick charger with 9V / 2A maximum output power, so it only takes about 3 hours to fully charge the 8000 mAh battery. Note that the charging time from 0% to 90% takes more than 2 hours but the last 10% takes up to 1 hour to complete.
