amazon Realme X reviews

Design

With equipped selfie pop-up camera, Realme has brought X screen overflow really similar to the trend of the recently launched phones.

However, the bottom edge of the screen is thicker than the other three edges. This does not affect the user’s experience much, whereas the larger lower edge helps users use gesture navigation more easily.

With the OLED screen used, Realme has equipped this phone with a fingerprint sensor under the screen. The sensor position is neither too low nor too high to help users feel comfortable when using.

Fingerprint sensor on Realme X can be set to activate as soon as the user picks up the device to use it. The processing speed of this sensor is also quite fast.

At the top of the device is a set of pop-up cameras located in the middle. Realme promises this mechanism has an operating life of at least 200,000 times calculated corresponding to 2 years of use. This camera kit has a smart feature that will automatically retract into the device if the user drops the device while in use.

The voice player is designed on the top of the device, where the contact between the frame and the front glass is maximize the percentage of Realme X display. The light and proximity sensors are also located at the bottom of the screen. The device does not include a notification LED set.

At the back of the Realme X, the camera cluster consists of 2 cameras and 1 LED flash located in the center of the machine, not in the upper left corner like other Realme lines. The camera cluster only protrudes slightly from the back of the device (less than 0.5mm), which makes Realme X unobtrusive when placed on a flat surface.

The Realme X used in this review comes in Blue with a range of colors that changes the light density arranged from top to bottom.

The 2 buttons next to the machine are similar to other Realme products. The power button is located on the right side while the volume up and down button is on the left side of the device.

A separate point of Realme X is that there is no micro SD card slot. The SIM slot located above the power button only includes 2 nano SIM locations. It can be said that this is a Realme X weakness compared to other Realme’s when it is not possible to expand storage memory. However, users don’t need to worry because Realme X’s internal memory capacity is 128GB.

The bottom edge of the device includes a speakerphone, a USB-C charging port, a main phone mic and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Meanwhile the extra mic of this phone is on the top edge.

Screen

Realme X is equipped with a 6.53 inch OLED screen with true overlay without any rabbit or water drops thanks to the support of a pop-up camera. The screen has 19.5: 9 aspect ratio and FullHD + 1080 × 2340 resolution.

The display quality that Realme X brings is quite good. The maximum brightness of this smartphone gives users the ability to use in outdoor lighting conditions.

Battery life

The battery on Realme X has a capacity of 3,765 mAh, a little smaller than the 4,045 mAh battery on Realme 3 Pro.

In battery tests, Realme X can operate continuously for over 28 hours of 3G phone calls, more than 12 hours of continuous website access using WiFi and nearly 16 hours of video playback.

With the fast charger VOOC 3.0 20W, users can fully charge Realme X’s battery for about an hour and a half. With 30 minutes of charging, the phone will reach 50% of the battery.

Speaker and sound quality

The speaker located at the bottom edge of Realme X has the same settings as the one on Realme 3 Pro. Therefore, the sound quality of Realme X is not much different from that of brother. With an efficient amplifier, the volume that Realme X brings is very high.

When using headphones, Realme X delivers results that are still not very satisfying when there are still noises and distortions.

Operating system

Realme X uses the latest Color OS 6 interface based on the same Android 9 platform as on Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro. Because the device used in this article is a Chinese version, so with the other Realme X in the market there will be some differences in the pre-installed applications as well as the icons of the applications.

Fingerprint security settings take a lot of time but in return the sensor works very well. It will be activated when you pick up the phone or when the button is pressed, all customized to the user’s liking.

Users can also set the phone to unlock by face using a pop-up camera instead of fingerprint security. With a maximum of 200,000 times to turn on and off, if one day the user turns on the camera about 250 times, this pop-up cluster has a lifespan of up to 2 years, so the use to unlock the face is nothing to worry. Users can also install phones that only unlock with faces when they open their eyes.

The pull-out notification screen on the phone includes quick and light on and off settings. Multi-screen split multitasking is available for all compatible applications and users can resize windows or swap 2 applications.

On Realme X, there are 3 navigation options for users to choose from. The first is the virtual navigation key, the second is the gesture to navigate from the bottom edge of the screen. Finally, it is a navigation feature with both sides of the swipe gesture, which allows the user to drag the screen to the side to return to the previous application.

Realme X also provides basic multimedia applications such as Photos and Music Player. However, Realme has not equipped the FM radio feature for this device.

Performance benchmark

Realme X has the same hardware as the Realme 3 Pro with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor chip incorporating 4GB / 6GB RAM version and 64GB internal memory and 8GB of 128GB internal RAM version.

So Realme X will have a performance that is not much different from Realme 3 Pro. With Geekbench benchmark, the points of Realme X and Realme 3 Pro are the same.

Thus, Realme X can completely meet user needs with a powerful mid-range chip 710, providing a good experience.

Camera

Realme X’s rear camera dual use includes a 48MP main camera f / 1.7 aperture with Sony IMX586 sensor and a 5MP depth camera f / 2.4 aperture.

The camera application of the device provides AI scene recognition, users will see a small icon appear when the scene is automatically recognized successfully.

The application includes 3 main modes: Photo, Portrait and Video, users can swipe to 2 sides to change between modes. In addition, other shooting modes such as Expert, Panel, Time Fast, Slow Dial and Night are all stored in the menu in the left corner.

In terms of image quality, Realme X’s daytime shots are of very good quality with high contrast and vivid colors. The details in the picture are also very full and sharp at every corner of the frame.

Realme X’s low-light shots are also quite clear. When Night mode is turned on, Realme X highlights to enhance clarity for surrounding details. However, users need to limit the number of details in the photo so that this mode works best.

With Portrait mode, Realme X delivers excellent images with the ability to detect subjects very well, whether people or objects.

Realme X’s selfie camera is 16MP with an aperture of f / 2.0 and has autofocus capability. Besides, the beauty features such as smooth skin, eye widening, thin face making also appear. In high light conditions, Realme X will produce very detailed and sharp selfie images, unique colors.

Although there is no depth sensor camera on the back, the selfie pop-up camera also offers the ability to capture fonts quite well.

For video recording capabilities, Realme X can provide 4K video 30fps. In addition, the device is also resistant to vibration (only available in 1080p 30fps quality). Although this mode does not eliminate vibration completely while recording videos while walking but when standing on the spot, the recorded video will make the user very satisfied.

Conclude

Realme X is Realme’s highest rated phone so far. The true overflow screen, high battery life and sharp camera are 3 of the factors that make this device a success.
