Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 can be considered Samsung’s most innovative design tablet in recent years. Instead of the traditional 16:10 aspect ratio, Korean manufacturers have decided to move to 4: 3, which is more versatile than a tablet. That is also the thinnest tablet PC globally, surpassing both Apple iPad Air 2 and Dell Venue 8 7000.

The first impression of Samsung’s new S2 Tab line is that it’s quieter than the previous one due to the scaling of the screen. Compared with the last 16:10 ratio of entertainment as much as watching a video, the 4: 3 ratio makes the machine look more compact. Shortening the length causes the center of gravity to be closer to the lower edge and helps to keep fatigued in the long run. In the 8-inch screen version, users can fully use the thumb and two fingers comfortably in the middle of the machine.
Tab S2 is only 5.6 mm thin and is the thinnest tablet today. However, holding the machine is quite easy due to the material on the back (avoiding slippery) and the rim of the metal as the palm firm. Samsung put the touch keys Back and Menu close to the Home button to reduce the phenomenon of mistaken finger touch while holding the machine.

Tablet equipped with the Home button new fingerprint sensor similar to the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy Note 5 instead of swipe like the previous generation; the operation is simpler with just pressing the button and holding down the finger less than a second unlocking machine. Do not integrate the basic keys of Android into the screen, as some Android tablets recently can also be considered a bonus point for the Galaxy Tab S2.

Although quite slim, the Galaxy Tab S2 still integrates all the hard keys and the SIM card slot, microSD card to the side. While the camera on the back is protrusive but there is no LED flash.

The Galaxy Tab S2 is an 8-inch Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1,536 x 2,048 pixels. The machine’s screen has a large brightness for good outdoor viewing, wide viewing angle, and no color variation or brightness when tilting. Compared with the previous generation, the Tab S2 screen is better color balance, contrast better but not too brilliant. The high resolution makes the display sharp, almost impossible to detect aliasing in small details of the image when viewed with the naked eye.

However, on the Galaxy Tab S2, the most satisfying user points will come from the software. Android tablets have always been inferior to the iPad for stable performance and customization on the big screen, but on the S2 Tab is another story. Samsung’s new TouchWiz interface is designed with a large icon, steadily staging and displaying consistently in both horizontal and vertical usage. Most Android tablets usually only interfere with the phone’s large zoom, so it looks pretty rough, hard to use.

In addition to splitting the screen, the software can minimize the window and display multiple windows simultaneously on the screen of Tab S2. Users can perform drag and drop content with some applications such as photos and texts back and forth. The phone has a SIM card slot, 3G connectivity, and a phone call, but when a call comes in, the device shows only a small frame to report and does not affect the application in use.
Compared to a series of tablets running Android, Galaxy Tab S2 stands out with the Office suite of Office licenses from Microsoft pre-installed.

Neat features on traditional PCs allow users to work and play simultaneously, replacing bulky laptops. Included is a free 100GB One Drive account within two good years. To better support the office suite, Samsung also has a Bluetooth keyboard accessory for the Galaxy Tab S2 in the form of a leather cover book. Compared to the iPad, the Android operating system supports an external memory connection or mouse keyboard, making it easier to help the user’s work.

To serve the multitasking capabilities of the traditional PC, the Galaxy Tab S2 is well-equipped with a Samsung Exynos 5433 processor with eight cores, including four 1.9 GHz quad-core for heavy-duty and Four 1.3-GHz for lightweight tasks and more battery-saving. The machine also has 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory and can be expanded by the microSD card slot.

With AuTuTu Benchmark software testing, the machine achieved an impressive score of 52,103 and 27,708 points with the Quadrant Standard. Experience shows that the machine rarely encounters a jerky situation. Active features split the window or open multiple application windows at the same time smooth operation.

Much change in style and features, but Tab S2 is almost the same equipment on the camera as the previous generation. The rear camera has an 8-megapixel resolution but no LED flash, while the front is 2.1 megapixels. The only change was a slightly wider aperture that allowed for better darkness, but the actual use was less perceptible of the difference. The daytime shooting of the camera is quite good, while the photos in low light conditions are not good. However, compared to the multi-tablet on the market today, Tab S2 is still among the few models shooting the best.

With a rather slim size, the S2 Tab 8 inch model is equipped with a 4,000 mAh battery. That is a good volume, but the device must support a high-resolution screen and consume more energy; therefore, battery life is not impressive. If used to surf the web, watching videos at 50% brightness, the use time is more than 7 hours.
