In September, German electronics company Sennheiser has launched a series of new wireless products. CX7.00 BT is one of them, the first wireless cradle in the company’s traditional CX line. The box is made quite simple, with the front of the product image on black background. The back contains a few introductions in different languages as well as technical specifications of the earphone.

Specifications

Inside the case, beside the headset it have a cloth bag, 3 rubber ear tips, a instruction has 10 different langueges and a micro USB charging cable. At CX7.00 BT, they retain the necklace design used in the previous Momentum Wireless. This design does not have aesthetics like the type of wire between the two sides of the ear or wireless but the advantage of the battery can be larger, higher storage lead to longer playing time. The earphone can play for 10 hours, very impressive for an inear.

The necklace is made of resinous plastic, with the connectors and buttons placed on the left. There is also an NFC module for quick connection to smartphone. As a lower-end product, the CX7.00 BT does not have a vibration feature in the necklace to signal the call like Momentum Wireless. Both sides of the ear are made simple, not sophisticated like other products in the CX line. The diaphragm is placed diagonally, allowing the ear to penetrate deeper into the ear. All Sennheiser’s inear headphones (except IE800 and IE800s) have unique synthesizer: slightly dark, soft and easy to mix with different types of music. But not all the headphones are the same, each one has its own feauture. CX7.00 BT is a high-end product as well as the latest in the in the Sennheiser CX series so there are some worthwhile upgrades.

The bass of the headphones is just enough to hear. Sub bass is quite deep, but softened, the deeper the lower the volume, so it does not feel uncomfortable. Try Celery Belfast by Cescile Corbel, soft, lyrical and comfortable drum sounds. The tempo of the drums is not to high, so the drum sound of speed metal tracks will stick together, but for most other genres of music, the CX7.00 BT can play without any obstacle.

The mid is probably the most valuable upgrade, speacially  the high mid. In previous headphones version, this part is rolled of slightly early, causing the female voice is not natural, lack the necessary brightness. This sound of CX 7.00 BT is made just a little higher but very necessary for general sound. Amber Rubarth’s voice in This is real still laid back, warm and natural as the other earphones of Sennheiser.

Like the high mid, the treble also received a bit of upgrades, the volume is more improved compared to the same line product. The CX series have never been good on the treble, the CX 7.00 BT neither but it’s better and the sound more balance

Conclusion

The summarize the BT CX7.00 with one word, it’d be “simple”. The earphone have minimalist design, not as many speacial features as the new products from Sony or the Momentum from the same brand. The sound of the earphone, too, is very natural for listening to different genres of music. So it a safe choice for consumers.
