amazon Skullcandy Push reviews

After a long wait with lots of information revealed, Skullcandy finally released a pair of completely wireless headphones (TWS) here called Push. The wait of users, especially fans of this American sound company get satisfie or not?

Open the box

Skullcandy Push has a pretty big box and is beautifully designed. Half the box consists of logos and advertisements, the other half has cellophane so that users can see the headphones placed inside.

In addition to the charger box, of course, any True wireless pair is available, we have a USB Type-C charger cord and 2 more ear mugs.

Design

First we will learn about the charging box. Push’s box is quite large, because the pair of headphones is also large and placed vertically. This box cannot be put into the pants pocket, so I usually put it in my bag.

On the box we have LED system and a small button to report the remaining battery. Talking about battery life, Skullcandy Push can play music for 6 hours continuously and the charger box can provide another 6 hours. 12 hours is the standard playing time, not too little but not as impressive as Apple AirPods or Mee X10 pairs.

The earhook has a very fancy design, which is true to the nature of a pair of Skullcandy headphones. On the outside we have 2 buttons to control the music, adjust the volume and can also call both Siri virtual assistant or Google Assistant.

The push is attached to the user’s ear not by the shell but by the tip and the wing, so even with a large design, it is still comfortable.

Overall, I’m happy with the design of Skullcandy Push. The box section has a large volume, but just changing the usage is not a problem.

Practical experience

A somewhat incomprehensible point of Skullcandy Push is still using the Bluetooth 4.2 standard while TWS pairs are now switched to Bluetooth 5.0. But practical use, the connection stability is still good, I just lost the wave when placing the headset too far from the source or shielded by other electronic devices. Latency is also kept at an acceptable level, enough to watch videos without causing discomfort.

One of Skullcandy’s earpiece points has its own quality that is their sound presentation. The earphones of the company are usually made in bassy format to serve those who listen to Hip Hop, Dance, Trance …. In recent years this sound has been softened slightly, especially to correct the poor midrange sound of early products.

Push is the latest product and clearly shows this type of sound. The headphones still have an abundance of bass, never feel missing. Trying with Kanye West and Estelle’s American Boy song, the bass sounded very strong, reaching even the deepest sub bass parts. The mid bass section still shows a light boomy characteristic of the Skullcandy headset, which is somewhat ‘violent’ to jazz but is especially good for the types of music that this headset targets.

The mid section was also pushed back slightly to make room for the bass, as this is still a pair of clear bassy headphones. But the point I noticed at Push is that the company has created a more natural singer voice, no longer “distorted” or too strong sibalance like the old headphones. Joanna Wang’s slow Pop songs no longer feel lost, although the female vocalist’s voice is not as striking as the headphones in the light but easy to hear and enjoy.

The treble part is not the strength of Push, when the pair of headphones has high volume, it is only moderate. Treble climbed or lost energy early, so it looked warm, light enough to make the soundstage not too dark due to the bass, but it was not a part of the attention of Push. In my opinion this is a good point, because I still remember that the 50/50 or Titan’s ears have a treble sound that is very good to the peak and jarring level, very hard to hear!
