amazon Sony XBA-N1AP reviews

Although not brought to the 2016 IFA event (the stage where Sony has released the superior Signature Series combo for more than $7000), the two new XBA models from Sony, XBA-N3AP & XBA-N1AP, are still attractive to the audio community and technology enthusiasts.

As the successor to the XBA-A series (released in 2014 by XBA-A1, XBA-A2 & XBA-A3), this new in-ear headset is still equipped with HD Hybrid driver technology, gaining Hi-Res Audio standard with high-quality sound and high fidelity.

Specifications XBA-N1AP:
Driver: 1 LCP HD Dynamic Driver (LCP Liquid Crystal Polymer) 9mm & 1 BA Drive
Response frequency range: 4 Hz – 40,000 Hz
Sensitivity: 102 dB / mW
Impedance: 32oHm @ 1kHz
Weight: ~ 6g (excluding cable)

The Y cable is 1.2m long, and the pure OFC copper core is removable
4-pole Gold-plated L-shaped jack
XBA-N1AP still possesses luxurious, sophisticated designs of the XBA line so far. The housing part of this in-ear headset is quite compact; the surface is glossy chrome black with the product name. The back & top housing is made of sanded hard plastic that is effective against dirt, Better sweat ordinary plastic shiny material.

However, compared to the previous XBA-A series, the XBA-N1AP’s exterior design has changed dramatically and is somewhat “monstrous.” Specifically, Sony has arranged the Hybrid Driver system. According to a completely new structure, in the ear tubers, 9mm Dynamic Driver in charge of the bass range and mid-tones are separated. At the same time, BA Driver assumes a high-pitched content set to 90 degrees compared to Dynamic Driver.

The XBA-N1AP cable is removable, convenient for storage, replacing after a period of use, or upgrading to more expensive cables to upgrade the sound quality. Core cable is machined with silver OFC copper material and coated with high-quality rubber, ensuring durability and anti-breaking. The headset cord is also equipped with a microphone to serve the needs of listening to the phone.

The kit comes with a headset that includes clips, case holders, wire winders (cable adjuster), Hybrid Earbuds (SS / S / M / L), and Triple Comfort Earbuds (S / M / L). Most notable are the three Triple Comfort Earbuds tips, as you see below, which are the latest and exclusive tips for Sony for a very smooth feel, excellent sound insulation, better sound experience, and Especially it is washable.

SONY XBA-N1AP Stereo In-ear Headphones: Buy it now

Like tradition on other in-ear headphones from Sony (most notably the XBA line), N1AP is still a product that the Japanese audio company aims at users who love a strong and powerful bass range. But through many generations, the bass band of the XBA series has a big difference, from the hard-to-control bass quality on the pure three Driver lines, now becoming more compact and poised due to Hybrid Driver technology.

The bass that N1AP displayed was unmistakable; the bass was deep, the natural decay was not artificially stretched, but it was also unaffected by roll-off. Compared to XBA-A2 or XBA-A3, N1AP controls the bass range a bit better, especially when expressing very fast bass hits like Revolution Deathsquad, Welcome to the Jungle, or All About That Bass.

Combined with the remaining three drivers, the high mid-range range is refined by Sony’s in-ear towards natural, smooth, and richer details. If you are not happy with the low-mid part of the mid-range or the sometimes dazzling high-mid of XBA-A2, then the N1AP, mid is more progressive and thicker, the male and female vocals push up quite high in each word, stand out from the background – not mixed by any noise or overwhelmed by the bass range.

The treble is progressive, but it shows both goodness, smoothness, and not harsh glare. The cymbal in November Rain did not get irritated and just barely managed to get up, and then slowly and dissipated the violin was weaved smoothly by Sarah Chang, soft and relaxing. According to my personal feelings, this treble band is very pleased to light, instrumental music but not shimmering, jingle, and sometimes violent – something that treble-addicted ears always look.

Overall, XBA-N1AP is still a good headset and worthy of the price range: “weird” design but beautiful, solid; Many accessories come with the same sound quality compared to previous versions. The appeal of the XBA-N1AP is encapsulated in a strong, compact bass band, a bright mid-treble, a wide soundstage, and fully reproduced instrument details.

Of course, each product in the same price range from different sound manufacturers will show distinct styles – this will create a different perspective in the player community – and it is also interesting when playing headphones. What do you expect from an in-ear headset that costs nearly $200 from a beloved brand like Sony?
