Design

Sony continues to use square lines to complete the new Xperia 10, similar to previous Xperia models. Despite being a mid-range product, while holding the Xperia 10, it still gives Sony a high-quality feel, a rugged metal case with a strong grip.

Xperia 10 though up to 6 inches in size but thanks to its slim body, only 8.4mm plus the screen is extended to the top so users can still hold the device quite comfortable to use. On the front, Xperia 10 has screen edges on both sides and the bottom is quite thin, but the top edge is thick, similar to the “no chin” design on BPhone 3. This design makes Sony’s newly launched mobile model impress quite well with users, although there are no trendy rabbit ears, water drops or perforated designs.

The right side of Xperia 10 is the location of the SIM and memory card slots, covered by the cover instead of the tray format like most smartphones. While the left edge is the place where the power button is integrated with a fingerprint sensor and volume control key. The buttons are in a low position, convenient for users to manipulate without hand, but a bit small. In addition, the Xperia 10 fingerprint scanner offers a low recognition speed because the scanning area is relatively small, and the right edge of the device is worth the inconvenience of placing it on the front or back of the device.

Screen and sound

Sony equips Xperia 10 6-inch screen, Full-HD + resolution, 457ppi pixel density and uses 21: 9 frame rate to help users get the same video viewing experience like movie theater. Besides, with this wide screen, users can both watch videos and text without having to switch between the two applications or just launch and use two applications at the same time.

Another plus is the quality displayed on Sony’s new phones very well in the segment. Images are reproduced with Xperia screen sharp, faithful, rich in detail and with high brightness, users can use the device in most lighting conditions. Of course, compared to the high-end Xperia 1, the Xperia 10 lacks a series of exclusive Sony technologies like Triluminos display and X-Reality Engine.

In terms of audio, Sony has integrated LDAC technology into Xperia 10, supposedly making sound clear even when listening wirelessly. In addition, there is DSEE HX (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) technology that restores lost frequencies, especially with highs and lows. As a result, the sound of this phone itself becomes clearer and more natural.

Configuration and performance

Sony equips Xperia 10 Snapdragon 630 processor, 8 core Cortex-A53 2.2 GHz, comes with Adreno 508 graphics, 3GB / 4GB RAM capacity, 64GB internal memory and users can expand capacity Store via microSD card with a maximum capacity of 512GB.

This configuration of Xperia 10 is considered not too strong compared to other competitors in the mid-range segment. And it’s not hard to understand when the benchmark of this phone on AnTuTu or Geekbench is much lower than its competitors like Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018), Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, …

On the software, Xperia 10 runs on Google’s latest Android 9 Pie operating system and is equipped with many features to be compatible with this phone’s 21: 9 screen. Among them is Side Sense, a feature that allows users to select both applications that want to display in multi-window mode to take advantage of Xpeira’s super-long-rate screen.

Battery life

Sony equips Xperia 10 2,870 mAh batteries, much smaller than many smartphones in the same price range in the market. Sony’s new mobile model only has a standby time of 65 hours, 3G talk time of nearly 18 hours, 8h42p web access and 8 hours of video playback. This result is much lower than competitors in the same segment as Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018), Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, Huawei P Smart 2019 and even Moto G7 also have video viewing time of up to 9 hours.

Camera

Like most mid-range smartphones today, Sony equips Xperia 10 with a rear camera system, including a 13MP main sensor (f / 2.0 aperture, 1 / 2.8 inch sensor size, point size, 1.25um image) and 5MP secondary sensor (1/4 inch sensor size) for depth measurement when taking portraits.

Reportedly, the main camera of this phone will support hybrid AF technology, SteadyShot anti-shake and have 5x digital zoom. While on the front of the phone is an 8MP selfie camera for users to take a selfie and video call.

Xperia’s photography interface is identical to what we see on its XZ3 man, quite simple and intuitive, enabling users to tweak quickly to get the best photo shoot. In terms of image quality, in bright enough conditions, the Xperia 10 camera produces images with high detail and sharpness. However, the color saturation is quite high and in some cases the image is yellow. In low light conditions, Sony’s new mid-range mobile model is not impressive when it comes to images with low details and a lot of noise.

In terms of video recording capabilities, the Xperia 10 offers 4K @ 30fps video recording capability and either Full-HD at 60 frames per second with the help of SteadyShot anti-shake feature that provides decent quality and eliminates noise pretty good.

Conclude

Overall, Xperia 10 is a device with bold imprints from Sony, from finish to design. So, this promises to be a great choice for those who need a smartphone with unique design, stable performance, quality dual-camera and unique 21: 9 screen to cater to Multimedia entertainment.
