Except for big technology companies like Apple, Samsung, and Huawei, all audio markets have simultaneously switched to True Wireless In-ear headphones. In-ear has many advantages compared to Ear-buds, in which natural noise cancellation and active noise cancellation can do significantly better.

But there are still those of you who do not want to give up the Earbud because of its comfort, so there are still companies like Urbanista who are still loyal to the development of this type of headset. Its latest pair of TWS Ear-buds is the Lisbon, with one of its most notable features being its compactness!

Right from the box, we can see the compactness of this pair of headphones, when the box almost fits in the palm.

On the back are some of the most outstanding features of the headset, including Bluetooth 5.2, and 27 hours of use.

Urbanista’s box has always been very delicate, although using only cardboard, there are still separate compartments for different ingredients.

Ear accessories with a user manual, Type-C charging cord, and a set of ear flaps have been attached to the ear for use!

Your first impression when holding the Lisbon charging case is why it can be so small! If you use this pair of headphones to exercise and put the charging case in your pocket, it will not feel bulky at all.

Although small, the box can still power the headphones 2 more times, with each use of 9 hours for a total of 27 hours.

The box is already small, the headset is even smaller! Surely the first time holding Lisbon will feel surprised because most True Wireless Ear-buds on the market have an extra tail, but Lisbon does not. It’s exactly like the old wired earbuds and… just cut the wires, without adding any extra details.

Each ear only weighs 4g, combined with the neat size, it creates a very comfortable wearing feeling on the ear. You can wear the Lisbon right away, or use extra ear cushions for a more secure hold. Personally, when I use it at home, I will leave the headphones bare, and every time I exercise or walk, I will add cushions to give a feeling of peace of mind, ensuring Lisbon does not fall out.

The outside of the headset is touch-sensitive to control music and calls, giving it a more modern feel than physical buttons. It is a pity that this pair of headphones does not have any water resistance standards, during use, I still wear headphones to exercise normally, but also pay more attention to cleaning the headphones whenever there is moisture.

Last but not least is the sound quality of these headphones. Urbanista is a company that is quite experienced in designing earbud headphones and also captures the “trend” in fine-tuning the sound of this type of headset, which is to make the sound quality a bit thick and warm so as not to be thin like the previous generation ear-bud headphones.

As usual, due to physical obstacles, Lisbon still cannot reproduce a super-thick bass like in-ear headphones, but the company has also tried to add this range so that we can feel it.

In the Animals song of Maroon 5, the drum sounds are often still focused on the mid-bass, but always emerge, not giving the feeling of being sunk. When in noisy spaces, bass will be consumed more than In-ear, this is an inherent weakness that those who use earbuds already know well.

The band I think stands out the most in Lisbon is the mid-range, not because it’s lightened but because of its position and thickness. The singer’s voice throughout Lisbon’s performance, although not bright, is always clear because it is placed almost close to the listener, always in front of the bass and treble. This band is also quite thick and warm, at least with earbud pairs.

In my opinion, this is a good approach for Lisbon and new generation earbuds. If you make the mid-range and treble bright, the sound quality will also be able to make a strong impression on the listener the first time, but in noisy conditions, the bass has lost a bit of volume, and it will be dazzling and difficult to hear. Making the sound a bit darker makes every song easier to listen to, especially with songs with lyrics.

Compact but powerful

Urbanista is a rare company today that still pursues ear-bud design, and through Lisbon, we can see that the company is very serious about this mission. This pair of headphones, although compact, is still very powerful, without sacrificing usage time, and still has the latest Bluetooth and rich sound quality.
