amazon WD Blue SSD reviews
Specs: TLC NAND used, durable
First, Blue WD drives using Sandisk TLC NAND, the common form of memory on today’s popular SSD. TLC NAND provides the lowest cost, but performance will be difficult to compete with MLC drives (storing 2 bits per 1 cell memory).
The other parameters are also very remarkable durability of up to 1TB version 400TBW (TeraByte Written), is a very high level for TLC NAND drives used. This parameter means the reliability of SSD will be guaranteed at least until it has been recorded to 400TB of data on the drive. In fact the SSD which the writer has used, the recording is only about 2 – 4TB / year, so I can use more than … 100 years off the life of the SSD WD Blue.
Design and accessories are very simple
WD Blue has two versions: a 2.5-inch drive is SATA III connector, and a drive connecting port M2 2280. Product (in this review) is 2.5 inches, this is the more common form and can be installed on most computers.
Stamp on the top part of the drive is simple, interesting information includes only blue and drive capacity. 7mm thickness suitable for laptops with thin hard drive slot. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not bundle an insert tray to increase the thickness of the drive. Thus if inserted in the laptop with 9.5mm hard drive tray, the drive will not fit into the tray and you may have to reinforced for sure.
In terms of accessories, WD is not bundled third-party software or management software SSD. SSD manufacturers often provide software with tracking the health status, firmware update, copy (clone) of data or shred (secure erase) drive. Current WD however no such software.

Performance evaluation methods
Performance is the most important element of the SSD, but this factor is often mentioned manufacturers are very superficial. The parameters that manufacturers often announced as the speed of read / write constantly, but this is not the most visible element of a SSD performance.
The difference of SSD versus HDD lies in the ability to retrieve random data, ie the data are arranged in the memory cells are not adjacent to each other on the drive. The nature of flash memory allows random access, while faster than muscle memory on the HDD. Speed read / write continuously (write large files, in the adjacent memory cell) SSDs also outperformed the HDD, but in actual use, the read / write random place processes most.
Also a factor is also very important that the SSD is capable of operating at full drive. Due to the nature of flash memory, performance will decrease when not much space. When the drive is almost full, the drive controller will also have to work “harder” than to move the section “junk” (garbage collection) and find the space to override.
Conclude
WD SSD offer scalable performance compared to a memory chip products using TLC. The speed of this product is still a little inferior in performance compared to the Samsung 850 EVO, SSD uses memory chips TLC line the most popular current.
WD has not provided the software for the utilities concerned can be considered as a minus point. Pluses of this product line is durable, partly to help users safely used.
