SF Driver, which stands for “Superior Fidelity,” is a new generation audio driver developed by professor and audio expert Shin-Ryeol Lee and released to have resonated in the audio industry at the end of 2017; after that, SF Driver was first integrated into the PBH-400 headset.

3-layer vibrating diaphragm construction for more realistic sound quality
After more than ten years of research in his field, Professor Shin-Ryeol Lee discovered that, with conventional headphones, only one layer of the diaphragm is used. Therefore, distortion will occur when reproducing subwoofer and super high sound, resulting in an incomplete experience for listeners.
Based on precise simulation and detailed analysis of the distinctive vibration separation of audio at 10kHz or higher using a 3D Laser scanner. Professor Lee designed the SF Driver using only a single dynamic driver with a diameter of 8mm but equipped with a multi-layer method that partially eliminates distortion vibrations at the Diaphragm diaphragm to deliver original sound.
The biggest difference of conventional Diaphragm membranes with only one membrane layer is that resonance and distortion often occur. Hence, SF Driver uses a 3-layer diaphragm with a thickness of up to 46 μm to enhance. The diaphragm’s ruggedness helps the headset reproduce the original sound accurately. Clear sound quality with high width will be the strength of the PBH-400 compared to competing headphones in the same price range.
Through the test of the THD Ratio index (the measure of the distortion, the distortion of the sound), although it is a headset connected via Bluetooth, the PBH-400 has a very small THD index. According to the manufacturer’s announced parameters, it is less than 3%. Still, when measured in reality, the frequency bands with THD are mostly below 1%, so the PBH-400 is almost a proven product showing the sound reproduction hyper-fidelity bar.
What makes the PBH-400 great sound quality
Detailed analysis of the exceptional separation vibration of the sound at 10kHz or higher using a 3D Laser scanner, based on that precise simulation, Professor Shin-Ryeol Lee applied the SF Driver to minimize the variables. Sound shaping and the application of Acoustic Centering Technology to unify the center of gravity of all sound waves help to optimally control the magnitude and phase of the sound waves passing through the SF Driver. Therefore, the sound reaches the full range of ultrasonic waves – beyond the limits of human hearing – and delivers the closest possible sound to the original sound.
The PBH-400 has an audio phase delay of about 100 ms as measured by the Korean audio review website OBD.CO.KR and the average delay of other wireless headphones are at 150 ms or more.
Although it is very small, users who use the headset to play games or watch movies will easily recognize it because most Bluetooth headsets often suffer from the pre-sound phenomenon. Partron’s antenna quality has been proven through this delay.
