ATH-AVC200 specifications, with a 40 ohm impedance and a sensitivity of 100dB / mW, this headphone works well on DAPs or smartphones with iPod or iPhone power. The weaker capacity is a bit limited – but the difference is negligible.

If you are familiar with the warm, sweet sound of Audio Technica, ATH-AVC200 will make you a little surprised. Overall, the 3 tone strips on the ATH-AVC200 are quite balanced, harmonized, favoring the treble band a bit to create a clear sound, comfortable both listening to music and watching movies.

The bass range of the ATH-AVC200 concentrates mostly on mid bass, good in quality… but against basshead designation. Bass is round, speedy, well controlled and quite detailed, but in terms of sense of being a little shallower – not yet come, not really. However, such bass is easy to listen to, with a variety of music such as classical, new age and rock, dance, hiphop still show 7 parts – not really excellent.

Breaking into the mid range, the ATH-AVC200 has a fairly rough, rustic mid-range and very detailed mid-range of studio headphones. Much to the upper-mid, the bass is reduced in volume so the ability to show string instruments (such as guitar, violin, cello) very well, the listener will feel a full guitar and the whirring of the guitar. However, the AVC200’s midrange range is not very good with vocals, ballads or songs that need the sweetness.

Treble of the AVC200 is very up, more energy, advanced and clear, the cymbal sound is fun and excited cymbal. The sound of Kenny G’s breath, compression, and fluttering in the sleek saxophones appeals to the gentle, relaxed feel of the audience.

With the closed-back design of the closed-back, of course, the AVC200’s sound stage is not too distant, but it reproduces a fairly large, diffused musical space with the ability to disassemble the instrument well. Inferior to many other monitors in the ATH-M40x, ATH-M50x.

With entertainment, audio-visual needs

At the price of $60, it is clear that the ATH-AVC200 is not a product of Audio Technica’s audio phases. Simply, it is a home-style headphones & home entertainment with balanced sound, harmony between 3 strips and gives the listener a sense of comfort, relaxation.

The AVC200 is very classical, new age, followed by light music like Yiruma, Kitaro or Kenny G. If you’re into a strong bass or midrange, other Audio Technica headphones MSR7, M50X, AD900x, AD1000x, … will be the choice not bad.
