Many upgrades worth designing and finishing
If the first version of Gen 1 gives us the feeling of being “cheap” in the design, through Gen 2, Fiio has redesigned the appearance. Instead of the two-piece aluminum casing as old, Gen 2 now has a solid aluminum cast aluminum body that feels quite tangible and secure.
The entire front of the screen is covered with glass attached to the bottom, for a glass surface front look pretty. The X1’s bass is a bit thicker and richer in terms of sound. Mid tends to be warm and good in detail. Treble, although not teng keng, does not flare but moving from mid to quite smooth, power is quite fit and easy to hear.
About the pull, the Fiio X1 Gen 2 pulls quite well the basic in-ear headphones, quite appropriate as a portable music player, convenient. However, for highs or fullsize hard to the X1 Gen 2 seems quite “exhausted”, requiring a relatively high volume but not fully reflect the ability of the headset.
