Design

If you were holding the LG G4, you will probably feel familiar with the LG K10 by these two smartphones are quite similar size and weight just a little bit different. The K10 design got a lot of impact from the G4, the front of the G4, but there was an improvement with the 2.5D light curved bezel.

Although the back is not as curvy and as much as the G4, but thanks to the curved edge of the curved front glass, the K10 even feels more comfortable holding its “senior”. Like the G4, the power button and volume keys are located on the back of the camera, just below the camera, leaving the two sides completely empty. For those new to LG smartphone, this hard disk layout requires familiarization in the early time. However, once you get used to it, you will find this layout very handy when the thumb on the back of the machine can easily press all three keys.

Even on the K10, users are more recognizable to the keys than the G4 by the volume button and the source has a different surface. However, this arrangement also has the disadvantage is difficult to take screenshots (requires pressing hold 2 power button + volume down). As a cheap product, the K10 does not have a laser sensor like the G4, in the back corner of the machine is the position of the loudspeaker, the top edge of the secondary microphone, while the entire connection below of the machine.

It can be said LG is the “master” of plastic materials in the phone world. Although the entire body of the K10 is made of plastic with a disassembled back cover, the machine is surprisingly solid, especially considering the standard of a cheap product. Use the K10 grip, then press the thumb firmly on the back of the machine and still hear no “creaking”. Even when the four corners are turned at the same time, the machine does not deform. The quality of the K10 is also excellent, with its back fitted to the frame so close to the block, the detail is not as fashionable as the G4, but it has a knotted textile texture that increases friction while gripping. In addition, the chrome plated rims are so sophisticated that they are identical to polished steel. Inside the back cover is a detachable battery, two SIM card slots and a MicroSD card slot.

Screen

Occupying nearly the entire front of the K10 is a 5.3-inch screen with a resolution of only 1,280 by 720 pixels, which means the pixel density is only 277ppi. So if you look closely, you can recognize pixels on the screen. Because of the IPS LCD panel, the K10’s screen has very good viewing angles and harmonious colors. LG has also used In-cell Touch technology – pressing the same touch-sensitive substrate and glass into a single screen, making the image on the K10 look cleaner. If LG upgrades the K10’s screen to Full-HD, it will gain a big advantage in the low-end smartphone segment.

However, due to the use of LCD panels, it is unlikely that the K10 will not display brilliant colors like those with AMOLED panels. In addition, the screen brightness of the K10 is just average.

Camera

Depending on the version, the LG K10 will be equipped with a rear camera with a 13MP or 8MP sensor. Specifically, LG K10 1 sim 4G LTE will have a 13MP camera and LG K10 2 sim 3G version with an 8MP camera.

In the cheap segment of the phone, people are not expecting too much on image quality, and the K10’s camera is just as good as a camera to capture and share information or moments of life.

The camera only captures the best pictures in bright enough conditions in acceptable detail with brilliant colors that are just enough, quite and harmonious. When the light is a little darker or indoors, the machine has started to get stuck in focus and the picture shows a lot of noise. At night, the K10’s images lose weight and are difficult to focus on, though they are bright enough to recognize the scene. However, when compared to the same segment, K10’s camera still exhibits color quite accurately in many shooting contexts.

In addition, the camera application of the machine is too dark too much, it does not allow customization of any parameters, even without color filters. The most effective facility on K10’s camera is taking voice-capturing images with the word “Cheese” or “Smile”.

With a 5 megapixel front camera, the K10 can capture pretty selfie portraits. When using the front camera, the keypad on the back of the device becomes useful with two volume buttons acting as photo capturing buttons. In addition, another feature available only in the front camera is that the screen serves as an auxiliary light. However, this feature is not as elegant as the iPhone’s Retina Flash (which maximizes screen brightness and flashes when shooting), but the K10 will shrink the viewfinder to leave the white borders “Light” for the photo. Just like with the back camera, the K10’s front camera mode is very simple and completely lacking features such as facial beauty that are used so much on smartphones today.

Hardware

Like the camera, the K10 will use different processors depending on the version. Delivered in asia, the Mediatek MT6582 quad-core Cortex A7 processor clocked at 1.3GHz, the Mali-400 GPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. Not only is the low-cost chip, the MT6582 has been out for a long time – in 2013. So it’s no surprise that the machine scored low in some popular benchmarking applications: 22,798 at Antutu, 363 at one And Gehrbench’s 1,197 multi-core 3.

Under practical usage conditions, with 1GB of RAM, the K10 starts lagging when it runs continuously around 8-10 applications simultaneously. Machine easily “handle” the lightweight game. However, in heavier games, K10 is jerky with Real Racing 3 and a bit smoother at Asphalt 8.

Although there is 8GB of internal memory, in practice, K10 users will only be able to use about 4GB, because half of the ROOM capacity is for the operating system. With this small capacity, just after installing some games or heavy applications, K10’s internal memory will be almost full. The problem of internal memory can be resolved by the MicroSD expansion slot, but the K10 only supports up to 32GB of memory.

Software

On the Android 5.0.2 platform, the K10 utilizes the LG UX-style interface that features almost identical G4 interface and features. The manufacturer also has very limited installation of the application, which makes the speed of K10 improved slightly.

Battery life

The K10 is equipped with a removable battery with a capacity of 2.300mAh. It sounds pretty small, but when experimenting with web browsing tasks, check Facebook and stream music online over Wifi. K10 can also be used for about 15 hours. With daily intensity (call, photo, surf and check Facebook) from 8 am to 11 pm, the machine usually has about 15-20% reserve power. Through trial playback of a movie in MKV HD 720p format, subtitled version with MX Player, screen brightness 75% and speaker 50%, LG K10 stands for more than 10 hours. In general, the battery life of the machine can fully meet the needs of potential customers in the low-end smartphone segment.
