Beautiful design, but not handy

Not as boring as JBL nor square as angular like Sony, the M100 has a rather unique design in the shape of a shell. The front of the M100 is metal casing, the back cover is made entirely of glossy plastic. The distinctive feature of this portable speaker is a round hole through the front of the speaker body with a circular LED around to indicate the active state of the speaker.

The hard drive button and the volume control button system are located on the back of the speaker. However, in my opinion, this is an unfortunate disadvantage of the M100, as we move the speaker is very easy inadvertently touching these touch buttons, quite annoying. In addition, the glossy plastic design of the M100 is also very easy to fingerprints.

The bottom of the MicroUSB charging port with LED notification, next to the analog audio input is 3.5mm. Compared to the portable speakers from opponents KingOne, the downside of the M100 is not equipped with a microSD card slot.

Finally, Mrice M100 is not waterproof, anti-shock like many products of JBL. However, this fairly large size speaker seems to fit into a decorating device on a user’s desk rather than a mobile device that travels constantly. Therefore, the lack of these features is not too serious.

Digital:

Power: 10W

Speaker diaphragm size: 2″

Frequency response: 70Hz – 20KHz

Connectivity: Bluetooth, 3.5mm

Pin: lithium 1000mAH

Charging time: 4h

Playing time: 4 – 6h

Owning 2.1 speaker system (1 subwoofer and 2 satellite speakers) and 10W power, the M100 is not too loud for volume level and satisfies room space of 15-20 m2. However, this speaker impresses with the detailed sound, lightness and balance between the three strings.

Unlike most other competitors in the segment, Mrice M100 reproduces a circular bass, good bass and good control. Bass does not go down too deep, not much in volume but just enough to beat the good music genres from ascoutic, pop, jazz and Dance, EDM (though not quite satisfy the basshead).

The mid range represents the best of the Mrice M100 with a smoother, more amazing package with a bluetooth speaker under $50. The most common problem in this segment is that the thin, dry, low-contrast midrange does not appear on the M100. Although not too keen on low-mid or high-mid, but the ability to express vocal male and female are still prominent and bring a lot of emotions.

Mrice M100’s treble strips are not too impressive, just enough to hit them, while mostly treating the lower-treble to create a good sense of space for each track. This is the reason that this band is not really rich in energy as well as the ability to disassemble the instrument, reproducing theatrical space only reached 7/10.

The final highlight of the Mrice M100 is the average battery life, with only 4-5 hours per charge. It is easy to understand that this speaker only owns the capacity of 1000mAh battery but has to load 2.1 speaker systems with large size speakers. Hopefully the problem will be improved by Mrice on the new versions.

Worth to experience, as well as gifts

Advantage:

+ Unique design, good quality of machining.

+ Sound detail, rustic, easy to hear.

Disadvantages:

+ Button design inconvenient.

+ No external memory card is supported.

+ Average battery life.

Overall, missed some points except for not supporting memory card, touch button slightly inconvenient or battery life is not really excellent, Mrice M100 still scored with the user due to the unique design, beautiful and solid. Particularly sound detail, rustic, really relax.
