However, surprisingly, MSI did not release any MAG series products in this new product launch. Instead, the MSI Pro X670-P Wifi has become the new mid-range motherboard using the X670 chipset with incredible quality, far surpassing the previous generation MSI X570 A PRO.
Nevertheless, some elements of the PRO series are retained in this motherboard, such as the extremely simple packaging in black with striped lines and the PRO Series logo, reflecting the new design philosophy of this product line.
On the back, as usual, there are several notable technologies equipped on the motherboard, most notably the inclusion of Wifi-6E and USB 3.2 Gen2x2 technology with speeds up to 20Gbps, previously only found on high-end motherboards.
Upon unboxing, it’s easy to see that the design language of the MSI Pro X670-P Wifi has also undergone some changes, with more heatsinks for the M.2 Shield Frozr slots, and larger heatsinks for the VRM area, unlike the previous version which was simply “bare.”
The new generation mid-range motherboard offers more available space than the high-end MSI MEG X670E ACE through its M.2 PCIe Gen 4 SSD installation areas. The PCIe slots for graphics cards receive protection through SMT welding technology which strengthens their structural integrity. This design enables users to operate heavy graphics cards such as the MSI RX 6750 XT Gaming X Trio without any concerns about damaged contact pins.
The MSI Pro X670-P Wifi motherboard includes standard PCIe 4.0 16x slots which only provide equivalent performance to previous X570 generations. X670E motherboards with PCIe 5.0 16x slots for graphics cards offer superior performance compared to the MSI Pro X670-P Wifi motherboard.
The upcoming high-end NVIDIA RTX 40 Series graphics cards will operate on PCIe 4.0 because there is no impact on graphics card performance for the upcoming time period.
You will not find any graphics cards which can completely take advantage of this next-generation connection standard during the next few years.
