After a somewhat “inattentive” period, Jabra has returned too strongly with its new generation products in the Elite line. The Elite 2 and Elite 3 duo bring basic but extremely useful features at a low price, the Elite 7 Pro pair converges all the most advanced things that the company can bring.

Jabra Elite 4 Active, is a mid-range product that promises to be able to harmonize the number of features, sound quality, and price.

As usual, Jabra’s headphones are packed in a cardboard box with the main color being neon gold.

The kit in the box includes a short USB Type-C charging cord and 2 buffers. The buffers are placed in a locked tray, which looks quite professional, ensuring hygiene during transportation.

Jabra seems to have shaped its design, especially in the charging case. The Elite 4 Active’s box is no different from the two pairs of Elite 2 and Elite 3, but this is a good thing because this is a fairly neat charging box, enough to put in a trouser pocket or crossbody bag when running or cycling.

The charging port is located on the back, with the ability to quickly charge 10 minutes for 1 hour of use. In terms of usage time, Elite 4 Active can be used for 7 hours continuously and increased to 28 hours when used with this charging box.

An interesting point is that the earpiece of the Elite 4 Active has a design closer to the Elite 2 pair, and the Elite 3 is similar to the Elite 7 Pro (with a flat faceplate outside), it seems that the company wants to divide the device followed by even – odd numbers, right!

The Elite 4 Active is still equipped with the same physical buttons as all other Elite headsets, which are also submerged inside for a more beautiful design. Physical buttons are more trusted by sports players than touch buttons, giving a solid press feeling, not easy to be mistakenly pressed during intense practice!

The biggest difference that we can notice and realize that this is a more advanced version than Elite 2 and Elite 3 is the external microphone system, which supports better recording as well as the ANC noise cancellation service. Talking about the active noise cancellation feature, this feature is also quite effective on the Elite 4 Active. I tried using this pair of headphones on the street, but most of the sounds of cars, people, and animals can be blocked well. There is only a small gap in the high sound that the headphones can’t block, usually the throttle sound of large displacement vehicles after stopping at a red light. This noise resistance will still have to stand 1 level below Sony and Apple, but the distance has been shortened much compared to products from China!

With the Elite 4 Active, we can recognize this, when its bass does not hit the listener’s ears for the first time.

Instead of increasing the vibration and “loud” to the fullest, the Elite 4 Active’s bass is more about mid-bass, the drum beats down and then bounces up, not too much. Thanks to that, dance songs like Droeloe’s Homebound have a “bouncy” level of excitement but don’t cause headaches. This is the general bass direction of the whole TWS market today, and also the direction that I think is reasonable.

The softer bass also allows singers and mids to shine more. This part of the Elite 4 Active has tended to be brighter than Jabra’s older generation headphones, so that female vocalist like Sarah McLachlan is also represented more fully. Of course, this is still not a fully bright mid section, so you don’t need to worry about annoying glare and sibilance.

The treble is still not a strength coming from Jabra headphones. If you have listened to pairs of headphones with BA membranes, you will say this is a weak treble, but with the common ground with current Dynamic headphones, it is still average. The treble range in the Blue Traveler’s Hook appears to be enough to listen to, smooth to the ears, and matches the other sound bands of the Elite 4 Active.

The mid-range option is worth it
