The WH-1000XM2’s design does not have much of a difference with the preveous one MDR-1000X: stylish, bol, high-tech metal frame incorporates smooth leather covering the two earbuds, The smallest details are carefully perfected, with no minor errors. The WH-1000X’s earcup looks pretty simple – but this is where the latest technology in this headset converges. Another change from the previous version that the WH-1000XM2 has just two control buttons: power on/off and noise-canceling (NC). So the Ambient Sound button on the MDR-1000X has been integrated into the NC on/off button, when activate will reduce the noise- canceling by 50 percent, allowing the user to hear the sound from the surroundings.
