Canon 7D Mark II is like a miniature version of the Canon 1DX with 2.5 times cheaper ones, especially by using crop sensors, it also advantages 1.6x focal length multiplier is huge advantage for photographers to take pictures of wild or professional sports that must sit far away from the subject. Canon also recently held an event that allows users to experience Canon 7D Mark II reality with its leading lens.

Initially felt when holding the Canon 7D Mark II for extremely sure hand, feeling par 5D Mark III. The navigation button is in the tradition of Nikon placed in the most convenient locations, ensuring no loss of user time.

Performance

Due to the limited time experience, so we just test the capacities of the machine noise reduction at high ISO, it is vitally important for a camera to meet the needs of sports photography and wildlife. With two Digic chip VI image processing capabilities of the 7D Mark II is done in a flash, even when we test shoot with the highest rate is 10 frames / s at maximum resolution. Noise reduction capabilities of the 7D Mark II is cause we really impressive, up to ISO 3200 image is still very smooth, color and shadow detail is almost unchanged. To ISO 6400, noise began to appear but still acceptable when using photos in sizes small and medium.

Key Features

Sensor and processors. The sensor is 20.2 megapixels, APS-C, with a 1.6x crop factor. For wildlife and sports that crop gives you more reach from the same lens. Two DIGIC 6 processors handle the speed.

Autofocus. There are 65 AF points, all cross-type, and the center point is dual cross-type for extra precision with fast lenses. It tracks moving subjects reliably, which is why people buy this camera.

Burst speed. It shoots up to 10 fps, which is very fast for a DSLR at this price and makes it good for sport, birds and anything else that moves.

Live View and video. Dual Pixel CMOS AF gives smooth autofocus in Live View and in video. Video is 1080p at up to 60p, with manual exposure control, microphone and headphone jacks and clean HDMI output. There’s no 4K.

GPS. The camera has built-in GPS and can geotag your photos, which is useful for travel or field work.

Cards. There’s one CompactFlash slot and one SD slot. You can record to both at once for backup, or use the second card as overflow.

Connectivity. It has USB 3.0, HDMI and a remote terminal. There is no built-in Wi-Fi. Anyone who wants to send photos to a phone or laptop wirelessly will need to add an accessory or use a card reader.

Limitations

No Wi-Fi. Most cameras now have it, and it’s a real inconvenience for anyone who wants to share quickly.

High ISO. Noise is fine at moderate ISO settings and gets worse as you go up. Newer cameras do better in low light.

Fixed screen. It doesn’t tilt or flip, and it’s not a touchscreen.

Video. It’s 1080p only, with no 4K, and the video features are limited compared with newer hybrid cameras.

How It Compares

Canon EOS 80D: 24.2MP and a vari-angle touchscreen, for less money. It shoots 7 fps against the 7D Mark II’s 10, and the autofocus isn’t as good. If you’re not shooting fast action, that gap won’t matter.

Canon EOS 90D: 32.5MP, 4K, a vari-angle touchscreen and 10 fps. It beats the 7D Mark II on nearly every spec. The older camera has a tougher body and better weather sealing.

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV: full frame, 30.4MP, 4K. Image quality and high ISO are better, and it costs a lot more. The 7D Mark II’s crop sensor gives you more reach from the same lens, which matters for birds and wildlife.

Nikon D500: 20.9MP, 153 AF points, 10 fps, 4K and wireless transfer. It’s ahead of the 7D Mark II on features, so the decision comes down to lenses. If you have a bag of Canon glass, switching is expensive.

Sony a6500: 24.2MP, 11 fps, 5-axis stabilization, 4K and a tilting touchscreen, in a much smaller body. The viewfinder is electronic. If you want an optical one and a bigger grip, that points to the 7D Mark II.

Verdict

The 7D Mark II is a fast, tough camera built for action. It’s a good choice for wildlife, birds and sports, especially if you already own Canon lenses. It lacks Wi-Fi, 4K video and a tilting screen, and its high-ISO performance is behind newer cameras. If those don’t matter to you, it’s still a very capable body, and older models like this one have become good value on the used market.

Things to check before publishing

90D claim: the original said the 7D Mark II’s autofocus remains “superior” to the 90D’s. That’s debatable. The 90D has a newer AF system and Dual Pixel AF with subject tracking. I softened it to coverage and build, but please check the details yourself.

Dual processors and noise: the original said the two DIGIC 6 chips give “improved noise reduction.” I couldn’t back that up, so I left it out.

Current pricing: the 7D Mark II was discontinued, so say whether it’s available new or used, and add a current price range. Affiliate readers will want that.

Comparison list: the D500 and a6500 have both been replaced by newer models. Check what’s current so your links point to cameras people can still buy.

Optional Wi-Fi: Canon sold a separate wireless adapter for the 7D Mark II. If you want to mention it, confirm the model name and price.

Hands-on evidence: as with the other reviews, this reads like a summary of the spec sheet. Real burst sequences, autofocus hit rates on birds or sports, and high-ISO crops would help readers and E-E-A-T far more than any rewording.
