Brief introduction to Intel Comet Lake
As the article title says, this is the 4th reincarnation of Intel Skylake (after Whiskey Lake for laptops and Coffee Lake Refresh for desktops). And because it is based on Skylake, it is still manufactured on the 14nm process. I can’t count how many + signs there are behind it.
Intel Comet Lake first appeared on August 21, 2019 as U-series CPU codes. Next will be the H-series models for high-performance laptops on April 2, 2020. Then there are codes for desktop (S-series) on April 30, 2020 and finally Xeon W-1200 series on May 13, 2020.
Combined with the Ice Lake line, it is sold by Intel as “10th generation Intel Core processor”.

Single-core boost clock is pushed to 5.3 GHz (CFL-S is 5.0 GHz)

Core i9 models support Thermal Velocity Boost (TVB) technology
Core i7 and Core i9 models support Turbo Boost Max 3.0 technology
400-series chipset with LGA1200 socket
Intel Comet Lake-H vs. Coffee Lake-H Refresh
Maximum boost pulse increased by 500 MHz
Supports DDR4-2933 RAM
Core i7 and i9 models support Thermal Velocity Boost (TVB) technology
Intel Comet Lake-U vs. Whiskey Lake-U
Up to 6 cores and up to 12MB L3 cache
Maximum boost pulse increased by 300 MHz
Supports DDR4-2666 RAM and LPDDR3-2133
