amazon Dell P2419H reviews
What do you think about the 5k screen surely it would be great if the entire office was equipped with a 5K screen, right? It’s always been a dream, but the reality is that budgets are limited and it forces you to lower your desired standards, so don’t worry because there are plenty of high-quality monitors for the price much softer than screens with 4k resolution or soon 5k. Recently Biareview has been impressed by AOC X24P1, a screen using an IPS panel with a size of 24 inches providing 16:10 WUXGA resolution and today Biareview continues to have more detailed and thorough reviews of the new Dell P2419H.
The P2419H is Dell’s choice for a modern monitor for workplaces like offices. Indeed, we shouldn’t expect panel quality to be on par with the company’s pricier UltraSharp range, but if you’re looking for a low-cost upgrade, a larger IPS panel is a must 24 inches (23.8 inches to be exact) offers wide viewing angles, tried and trusted 1920×1080 Resolution, and incredibly thin bezels.
Design
Designed in a “clean and clutter-free” style, the screen bezel measures only 6mm at the top and sides, providing a trendy and almost borderless look, while the use of color tones Black and gray provide a simple yet sleek finish. Attaching the stand to the console is a tool-free process that takes a few seconds, and if you’re hoping to save space on your desk, Dell claims it’s the smallest monitor stand in its class.
The overall dimensions of 54cm (D) x 17cm (D) x 36cm (H) are petite for a 24-inch solution and the space-saving doesn’t compromise flexibility. Dell’s stand offers -5° / +25° tilt, up to 180° swivel, and 130mm height adjustment, as well as the option to flip to portrait mode. The right spot is easy to find and there’s an appropriately sized hole in the vertical arm for cable routing, however, if you need more flexibility, the stand can be easily removed to reveal the VESA mount. Standard 100mm, ideal for wall mounting or mounting to desk clamps.
Ease of use is paramount on monitors in the workplace, and Dell got it right by removing the touch controls in favor of five physical buttons along the bottom right edge for a tactile feel-good sense. Navigating the on-screen menus is simple, like creating shortcuts to your favorite presets, but the options overall are a bit simplistic. Competitors in this category offer intermittent or automatic shutdown reminders; not present here.
Conveniently, there are alternate sizes in Dell’s updated P-Series portfolio. If the 23.8-inch model under consideration isn’t ideal, there’s the 21.5-inch P2219H (£161), 23-inch P2319H (£175), and 27-inch P2719H (£246). All four offer the same 1080p resolution and practically identical specifications, although the largest panel promises improved peak brightness up to 300cd/m².
Specification and system of connection ports
Build quality is good for a mid-range display, and the 23.8-inch model covers most of the essentials. The use of in-plane switching technology allows 178° ultra-wide viewing angles in both directions, the matte coating and brightness of 250cd/m² should bode well for visibility in well-lit offices and 1,920s. The common x1,080 resolution at 60Hz is quite adequate for a screen of this size. There’s no claim of bold color coverage, and the standard 8ms response time (5ms with throttle) isn’t worth talking about at home, but we’re under the impression that the P2419H will be an all-around device without excellence in any area.
Perhaps many people won’t be apprehensive about the form factor and specs, and for businesses, Dell has played it safe regarding connectivity. Power is built in, which means there’s no external box, and the trio of downward display outputs – HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.2, and VGA – ensure compatibility with any recent PC. Rounding out the selection is upstream USB 3.0, used to power a pair of USB 2.0 ports on the back, as well as two USB 3.0 ports located on the left side of the display for easy access.
The shortcoming of this monitor is in the audio section because the P2419H does not provide built-in speakers nor a headphone jack. Whether that can be considered a deal breaker depends on the intended use scenario, but we would have liked to have the base speakers included as standard; at least they help protect from desktop clutter.
