The FiiO FD5 will be the upcoming flagship in-ear model of the dynamic driver headset line that previously had the sole presence of the FD1 model. To get the same high-quality sound as multi-driver models like the FH7 and FA9, FiiO has used a lot of technology in the FD5 model.

2. Design and quality of artistry

The housing of the FiiO FD5 is machined from beautifully polished stainless steel and is slightly heavier than the FD1 and FA7. The model number of the headset is laser engraved. 3. Wire quality

FiiO FD5 uses a detachable cord with good elasticity and is not affected by friction noise with the shirt. The set of three included headphone jacks is enough for most of your needs: 2.5mm, 3.5mm, 4.4mm, no need to buy additional cables. The wire of the FD5 is machined from high purity silver-plated copper with a total of 152 wires wound into eight cores, 24 AWG thick. The cable is 18 AWB thick.

The cord uses an MMCX connector with a strong and sturdy clamp superior to both the FH7 and FA9. Users can replace the plug by taking apart the outer metal shell and replacing the plug they need, then screwing the case back on as it was.

4. Technology and features

The FiiO FD5 uses a 12mm Beryllium dynamic driver with a Neodymium N52 magnet structure for magnetic currents up to 1.5 Tesla, thereby delivering solid and fast bass and clear, detailed treble. The diaphragm is designed to be very thin and light but has high rigidity thanks to coated with a layer of Beryllium.
