Design

Inheriting the design language of the previously successful version, the Haylou GT1 Pro has a compact and modest appearance; the material is mainly made of plastic, the whole body is covered with a matte black paint that is difficult to stick to fingerprints.

Behind the charging case is the micro USB port. Above the case lid is the black Haylou logo, hidden in the matte black of the overall.

In the middle of the body, the opening and closing of the case lid have a fairly large slot for you to open the lid easily. The case cover is made in the form of a magnet; the suction is not too strong. Right below that is a cluster of 4 white LEDs that indicate the battery level of the case.

Open the case cover; the interior also has the same language as the exterior. Details from the housing to the charging dock are less impressive in black. This lack of impression is not a defect; it is simply the style that Haylou GT1 Pro wants to pursue.

Continuing with the housing pair, their whole body is covered with matte black; the surface is a bit rough, not luxurious, not high-end, but small. Well, of course, because of this point, it’s not easy to stick to fingerprints; it’s light and clings to the ear, it’s easier to fit into the ear cavity.

On the surface of each housing side, there is also a small LED indicating the connection status hidden under the matte paint. It is almost impossible to detect the presence of an LED if it is in its normal, non-luminous state.

The first point is that in this version, the headset has been upgraded to the Bluetooth 5.0 standard AAC codec, much more “genuine” than the previous codec standard of GT1. In short, this is a significant upgrade that provides a much more stable, quality audio experience.

Quick experience

The exterior design is not outstanding; it feels like the TWS pair is trying to hide as much as possible instead of flaunting the advantages like in the language of other TWS lines. The special feature that it has, perhaps if placed next to the previous GT1 version, you will find the GT1 Pro is slightly larger due to the improvement coming from the battery capacity. A notable plus in the effort to make the GT1 Pro version more worth buying.

Connectivity 5.0, AAC codec support is quite stable, good for the price, not much to table. The only point to talk about is its initial pairing step. When experiencing, I encountered the phenomenon that the two housing sides could not pair with each other, could only listen to one side, or left, or right, but could not listen simultaneously.

– Step 1: Turn off the housing power. You take the two housings out of the box, press, and hold the touch surface for about 5 seconds; when the LED shows red continuously for about 1 second, it means they are powered off.

– Step 2: Pair the two sides of the housing. After turning off the power, wait for about 1 second and then continue to hold down the housing surface for about 10-15 seconds (generally quite a long time); the LED will flash red twice. When it flashes red for the second time, it is considered that the pairing work has been completed.

– Step 3: Connect. Put them back in the charging case, and then take them out to pair with your smartphone. Note do not close the case cover

During my experience, I only encountered this one problem. Pairing the two sides of the housing together is not too complicated; you can do it yourself.

The wearing experience is also very comfortable; the housing is light, the shape is compact, the fit is very good, it fits around the ear, it is difficult to fall off even when moving or active. The housing is too small also leads to the problem that you are difficult to hold, easy to slip, so try to be careful when taking the housing out of the case.

The charging case is similar; the small size can be one of the advantages to help it not cause obstacles and entanglements when carried in pants or shirt pockets.

Only one small minus point is that because the material is made of plastic, it seems that the case lid is a bit loose. Even so, the lid still closes quite tightly; its magnet design makes it difficult for the case lid to be opened suddenly while in use.

In addition, the magnets at the charging dock on both sides of the housing are also quite strong, difficult to drop when used normally. However, it will still fall if you try to test it by turning it upside down and swinging it vigorously. My advice is to use it normally.

As for the sound quality, it can be said that Haylou GT1 Pro has the most “stable” sound quality in this price range. It can fully represent all three frequency bands, including the bass range (TWS has always had difficulty reproducing). It cannot be said that it possesses a great sound quality without defects, but the level of perfection in its sound balance at this price range is commendable.

The bass range is quite spread, the volume is good, the force is stable, it can’t go deep, the tempo is not too fast, but it can be said to be good at the price range. The mid-range is clear, detailed, slightly back, showing both male and female vocals well. The rest of the treb strip is also quite good, not hissing when going high, but not enough to reproduce the sound of the cymbals in rock songs.

Although I criticize a lot about the treb strip (because I often listen to rock), I still appreciate the overall sound quality of the Haylou GT1 Pro in this price range. It’s cheap but still sounds good.

Criticism is not much, but praise is not much. Indeed, because the Haylou GT1 Pro is good in the price range, perhaps many people already know because this pair of TWS was also launched a long time ago and has received good feedback from many users.

In this price range, it’s easy to find an audio solution that’s both solidly built and full of features from IPX5 water resistance to Bluetooth 5.0 AAC codec, DSP noise filtering, touch sensor, 22-hour battery, and good quality. Sound good enough, like GT1 Pro is really difficult.
