When looking for a 360-degree view camera, the one to get should be for Android USB-C, user-friendly, plug-play type, compact sufficient to store in the pouch, having just enough image quality for the users’ selfie travel needs. Obtain some fun at 1280p-camera mode at 30 fps with very affordable prices standing at $130 for the Insta360 Air; it was what this camera was good for. Of course, the air does not pretend to be a proper out-and-walking “360-degree” content authoring device and for that, really demanding this level of image or video quality is already setting its standards extremely high.
In general, the Insta360 Air is rather compact, just a bit bigger than a table tennis ball. It feels a bit heavy for its size; however, it feels well built, quite modern, and, at some level, resembles a dwarfed BB robot from Star Wars. I used Insta360 Air mounted on Samsung Galaxy A3 and shot about 10 minutes of video quality at 1280p, draining the battery at about 4% not much different than shooting with the camera itself of the phone.
To use it, just, pull out Insta360 Air from a rubber shell and plug it directly to the phone through USB-C. This is current in functionality, especially for a 360-degree camera, while in general, it utilizes USB-C port instead of lightning one for iPhone or regular micro USB. Right after the plugging, the Insta360 Air phone app runs, and we were able to use it.
