Design
Linksys LGS326P is a high performance managed switch layer 2, supporting both IPv4 and IPv6. 1U standard design, comes with accessories to easily attach to the rack. The heat sink on the side and two cooling fans make the heat dissipation more efficient, the product is not too hot when operating for a long time.
More about the managed switch, this is a line of equipment that allows users to configure, optimize according to the actual model of the business. This switch supports the ability to manage, monitor the status of the network and integrate some security features. Of course, the price of this switch is also significantly higher than the unmanaged switch.
On the physical interface, except for the power port on the back, all the necessary connectivity ports on the front of the Linksys, making the wiring neat and easy to maintain, repair in case of trouble. There are 28 ports of Gigabit Ethernet, including 24 gigabit ethernet ports, two integrated switchgear (RJ45 + SFP) ports that can switch between conventional RJ45 ethernet interfaces and dedicated SFP optical interfaces.
In particular, the 24 gigabit ethernet ports of the LGS326P support 802.3at PoE + with intelligent management, accurate identification and power supply for each device in the network infrastructure. This is also the advantage of power over Ethernet (PoE), which combines the ability to transmit data and power over the same cable. It provides flexibility in network infrastructure design, limiting the pull of the power cable to the location of each device and using the adapter to change the AC line to one direction.
Testing in the office environment, the LGE326P provides stable power for a variety of devices, from access points, IP cameras and fingerprint time machines. By design, the Linksys switch can power all 24 ethernet ports. In practice, however, the number of PoEs will be limited to the total capacity the switch can handle, at about 192W. Specifically, if each device requires 15.4W, the number of devices that are powered directly through the switch is 12, and the other ports will be used to connect to non-PoE-enabled network devices.
Configuration interface
To enter the configuration interface of LGS326P, you can launch the web browser and type the default IP address 192.168.1.251. Log in with the default admin account and have two options set to Quick Start or manual configuration in the Configuration and Maintenance section.
The management interface of the switch is quite intuitive with the structure of the directory tree on the left. You just click on each item to see the status of the device, general configuration parameters, network status, number of connected devices or monitor all packets to / from a port.
With simple network management protocol (SNMP) the protocol is used for monitoring, controlling network devices and RMON (remote monitoring). You can configure the switch to set and monitor all system activity via the web management interface or SNMP. This capability makes it easy to operate and maintain the system through any device on the LAN and from outside the Internet.

Flexible features
The Linksys LGS326P offers a number of value-added features, enabling flexible and customized customization of any enterprise network. With 24 high-speed ethernet ports, you can combine them into 4 different LAGs, each with a maximum of 8 ports, to increase the connection bandwidth between switches. Meanwhile, the STP (Spanning Tree Protocol or the connection management protocol) avoids duplication in the network and creates redundant connections for critical connection failures.
802.3at PoE Power Management with maximum power of 31.5W per port. Utilizing PoE will reduce the need to pull the power cable to each node. Therefore, the expansion of the network under the development of enterprises is also faster and easier, especially in terms of cost.
It comes with a power saving mechanism, which automatically cuts down the amount of power the device provides at low load. According to Linksys, the efficiency is up to 70% and users can count on the specific watt hour (Wh) from energy savings.
VLAN (Virtual LAN) allows multiple networks to be created on the same switch and flexible policy settings per group of users. This feature enhances performance and meets security requirements, such as splitting the financial room network and the rest of the room. In addition, the LGS326P adds several options for administrators to split VLANs by MAC (MAC-based) addresses. This means that depending on the MAC address, the terminal will be assigned to the specific VLAN, regardless of the port of the switch.
The Quality of Service (QoS) feature optimizes traffic, reduces latency, and provides bandwidth for real-time multimedia applications. In the LGS326P configuration interface, you can optimize queues, IEEE 802.1p with 8 different priority queues (CoS), DSCP and port throughput control.
Of course, these are just some of the features of the Linksys LGS326P, not all. Depending on the requirements of each enterprise, you can fine tune, optimize the cost of your IT infrastructure, and increase the availability and scalability of the system.
Product overview
The Linksys LGS326P is designed to meet the demand for high-speed, reliable data transfer in small and medium businesses. The product demonstrates the power of control, from the overall network to the details of each network node through flexible policies. In particular, the 802.3at PoE-based power supply extends the ability to consolidate resources and place them under centralized control. System administrators will easily control, detect and solve problems quickly.
