The current headphone market is full of products that have emerged thanks to the names of famous people. Typically, Beats headphones with strong backing artists like Pharell, Amber Rose, Nicki Minaj, or other headphone brands with 50 Cent, Ludacris, and even Lady Gaga. That is taken as a standard to evaluate the quality of a headset product; the Meters OV-1 can also easily enter this list. Meters OV-1 has a unique design with two VU Analogue watches on both sides of the earcup that can work, not just make a beautiful scene. Looks quite aggressive with thick earcups (due to having to bring more VU watches), but Meters OV-1 has a very high comfort level when wearing. The earpad part of the product is covered with smooth protein leather that gently presses against the ears to increase the highest sound tightness. The Meters OV-1 headset opens with active noise cancellation (ANC) with 3 On / Off / Custom-EQ modes. With other ANC headsets, too close noises, such as typing or talking, will still be heard softly. Still, other sounds around, such as motorbikes and trucks, can rumble noticeably reduced, allowing users to listen to relaxing music while waiting for a train in public without missing important announcements. Of course, the Meters OV-1 will not achieve the noise-canceling level of the Bose QuietComfort 35, but it is enough for mid-range users.

In terms of sound quality, Meters OV-1 will probably be favored by bass enthusiasts with extremely strong bass and full depth, but the volume is too much, so it is sometimes a bit cloudy. Mid and high also encroach quite a lot, so they will not achieve the required detail compared to similar price headphones. This minus point of Meters OV-1 has been imitated thanks to its high convenience and comfort when wearing and good noise resistance. That said, when comparing the technique and with strict listening standards, it sounds relaxing, but it’s ok because it’s suitable for EDM, Pop, Rock, and other genres that need a thick bass range, a bit heavy.

As mentioned above, the mid and high of the Meters OV-1 are only quite average. Despite trying hard to imitate the tuning style of audiophile headphones, it isn’t easy to compare with the Master&Dynamic MH40. The Meters OV-1 is suitable for listening to radio, podcasts, or audiobooks and watching movies online. Its rich bass sound will result in medium reception quality (typically radio) easier to hear. Users are also recommended to switch to Custom-EQ listening mode when listening from low-quality music sources to improve the overall sound quality, although not much, but better than nothing.

The Meters OV-1 headphones, in general, can immediately impress users thanks to the unique VU Analogue clock design, but the sound quality is in the mid-range of $200 only. Fashion, design, and two watches with dancing hands are also good criteria for gifts, but for OV-1 to catch the eye of experienced audiophiles. I think it’s a fantasy.
