Although newly established in 2015 (8 years ago), Oriveti has created ‘hits’ in the wired headphone market to put their name on the audio map, standing next to established brands a long time ago. This brand, in addition to high-end products, using Hybrid speakers, up to 8 Balance Armature membranes with prices up to thousand of dollar, also has cheap, affordable options such as the Oriveti OD100 headphones.

Evaluation of design and packaging
The box of this pair of headphones is neutral gray, with a stylized Dynamic membrane decorative pattern that also looks quite beautiful.
The inner box is black, made of cardboard but has embossed patterns that look a bit like leather.
Opening the box, the first thing we see is a hard case covered in fabric, opened with a zipper.
Although it is a reasonably priced pair of headphones from Oriveti, the OD100 comes with a lot of ear cushions: 3 sets of transparent color, 3 sets of black color and up to 3 sets of foam. Many higher-priced pairs of wired headphones have even less accessories than this!
The headphone box when opened is quite spacious, holding enough headphones, buffers and an additional compact dongle if you use a USB Type-C port like me.
My first impression with this pair of headphones is that the quality is quite high! The housing of the Oriveti OD100 is made of a single block of aluminum, then cut with a high-end CNC machine so that there are no borders or seams joined together. The outside of the headset is also cut with embossed concentric circles so that the design of the headset has more emphasis and does not look boring.
The high quality of this pair of headphones is also reflected in the wire! The OD100’s wire connects to the headset using a common 2-pin port, a braided silver wire similar to high-end, custom wired products. The OD100’s cord looks ‘aggressive’ but is actually quite soft to hold, avoiding the phenomenon of microphonic noise as well as creating a comfortable feeling when used. I also have a pair of headphones with this type of wire, but the wire is heavy so when worn on the ear, it will pull down the housing, and have to be adjusted every 20 – 30 minutes to fit the ear.
All components on the wire such as the wire divider and 3.5mm jack are made of metal, creating a solid feeling when used and will also be more durable than headphones made entirely of plastic.
Looking at the macro lens, we can see how high the finishing quality of this pair of headphones is. The lathe-cut parts are meticulously made, without any excess aluminum. The 2-pin plugs are also covered with a layer of transparent plastic to reinforce them while in use, unplugging and plugging in.
Made of aluminum rather than heavier metals such as steel or iron, the OD100 is quite light in the hand, and when worn on the ear we can feel this. The headphones fit the listener’s ears with a tip, and once the right type and size are chosen, they will ‘disappear’ on the listener’s ears after only a short period of getting used to them.
On my most recent business trip, I decided to bring this pair of headphones because of their compactness and comfort instead of my personal pair of headphones with higher sound quality, but not as comfortable!

Evaluation of Oriveti OD100 sound quality
The serious, thoughtful design and sound quality of the Oriveti OD100 are also similar! This is a pair of headphones with a simple speaker set-up: only 1 Dynamic. However, this is not a ‘regular’ speaker membrane, but a large size (9.2mm), covered with a layer of diamond-shaped carbon (Diamond-like carbon or DLC) with the purpose of increasing the loudness rigid, helping it move precisely, eliminating unnecessary vibrations to increase detail in sound.
The sound quality of the OD100 can be described in two words: Clean and balanced. Unlike most pairs of low-cost and mid-range wired headphones that often target V-shape sound quality and have lots of bass to suit the music listening tastes of young people.
The OD100’s bass has a moderate amount of volume, just enough to use as well as a solid, neat presentation at just one point, not overstretched and spreading to both ears. Listen to the song “Still” by 24k.Right, the drum sounds in the background show the true nature of ‘background music’ so that the singer’s voice can be fully expressed, the technicality and layers can still be seen clear but clearly not the band that OD100 wants to put on high, attracting the listener’s attention.
The ranges I appreciate the most in the OD100 are the mid and high ranges, demonstrating the strength of clarity and detail of the OD100 when using carbon-coated speaker membranes. These two bands are quite neutral and do not lean completely towards the ‘bright’ direction like the pairs of headphones using Balance Armature, with the ‘natural quality’ characteristic of large-sized Dynamic speakers. It doesn’t need to be bright, but the singer’s voice from the OD100 still goes straight forward, located in the most ‘prime’ position to attract the listener’s attention; The expression doesn’t add ‘color’, so whether you listen to male or female voices, it’s still easy to listen to and like.
It’s the same with the high range! The first time I heard this band, it wasn’t bright at all and didn’t really stand out. But thanks to its natural expression, no sibilance and quite ‘thick’, the OD100’s treble always fits into the music very reasonably.
Can it be said that this pair of headphones has a bit ‘boring’ sound quality? For those of you who are familiar with the vibrant V-shape sound, you will definitely feel the same way, because the OD100 does not create a vibrant, powerful atmosphere to fully listen to Dance, Rap… But this is definitely not the customer base that Oriveti OD100 is targeting. This pair of headphones will be best suited for those who are looking for cleanliness and detail in sound to hear small details in music. Addtional, the naturalness to be used for a long time without feeling ‘tired’!
