amazon Phanteks Eclipse P300 reviews
Outside
The outside of the Phanteks Eclipse P300 case is relatively simple. There is a rear fan mount that is suitable for both 120mm and 140mm fans. You can install a radiator or an all-in-one radiator in this position.
On the roof, there are 2 USB 3.0 ports, an HD Audio port, and a reset button located on the right side, in the middle is the RGB LED light switch.
The front of the case is a large plastic plate with air intake. This plastic plate is attached to the case with a metal clip and is easily removed by pulling from the bottom edge.
The case has a 36x33cm glass side panel that allows you to show off the components inside. The glass is held by 4 rubber-coated pins.
The other side is just a regular steel plate and is bolted to the case. At the bottom of the case are 4 rubberized plastic feet to keep the case from slipping. In this corner, we also see an empty slot for the mainboard and power.
The filter of the Eclipse P300 is also quite simple, just a nylon filter underneath the source. Although the documents show that there are both filters for the top and front, this review product only has 1 filter for the power part. We have reached out to the manufacturer to see if the case includes additional filters and are waiting for a response.
Hardware support
You’ll find a small brown box in one of the hard drive slots that contain a few screws, a drawstring, and installation instructions.
The inside of the Eclipse P300 is relatively spacious for a mid-tower case, which is understandable because it doesn’t have a drive location. Phanteks said the case supports EATX boards, but we think it will be difficult to install components and an EATX main into this case.
There are a total of 7 wiring holes in the mainboard mount to help you hide the wires as best as possible. Some holes may be hidden depending on the size of the mainboard, but in general, it will not affect much. The upper left position has a wiring hole for the rear-mounted fan and 12V for the CPU.
Heat dissipation ability
The case can fit up to 4 120mm fans or 3 140mm fans. The position in front and above the case can fit both 120mm fans and 140mm fans, the position behind the case can only fit 120mm fans. Although the front has enough room to fit a 280mm radiator, you should note that the length of the wire may not reach the CPU.
We install and run temperature tests of the components in this case. With the i5-7500 configuration running at a 3.8GHz clock with a maximum temperature of 68 degrees, the VGA Rx580 also goes up to 83 degrees (room temperature is 25 degrees). However, in terms of noise, the case is quite quiet when only generating 33.4 dBA when running at maximum.
Summary
Phanteks Eclipse P300, despite its unimpressive heat dissipation performance, has a pretty good build quality and is quite spacious inside, combining very handy wiring holes. We recommend purchasing an additional intake fan mounted on the front of the case for better heat dissipation.
