Preliminary assessment

When buying this card, the first impression you will feel is the “giant” size of the box. The front has a picture of the card printed on it. The left side has the EVGA logo as well as the VGA line signal logo (here is the FTW3 Ultra line).

Motherboard

Overview of the motherboard of the RTX 2070 Super FTW3 Ultra graphics card. EVGA has used a completely custom design, not using a reference board anymore. That’s necessary to ensure “cramming” a lot of terrible components that support overclocking. The core TU104-410-A1 is located in the center of the board.

There are 10 CPU-specific VRM phases. They are controlled by the OnSemi NCP81610 controller.

VRAM will have 2 VRM phases dedicated to it, controlled by a second OnSemi NCP81610 controller.

The VRAM for this card is manufactured by Micron and bears the model number D9WCW. They have speeds of 14 Gbps.
