Made of aluminum but with a moderate size, the machine remains lightweight. The 4G SIM version that we have here weighs only 371g, along the weight is spread evenly across the body, so it’s easy to use for a long time without causing hand fatigue.
We have connection ports around the edges, including USB Type-C, 3.5mm, a SIM slot that can be inserted 1 SIM (for calling, texting, using 4G network), and one microSD card with a power button and boost button turn down the volume. The first “popularity” revealed in this tablet lies in the screen quality. The type used in Tab A7 Lite only has a low resolution of 800 x 1340 (HD +), has colors in the direction of pale, and does not have high brightness – suitable for indoor use rather than taking it out in the sun.

The “Lite” of the device has not stopped at screen quality when Tab A7 Lite is equipped with a rather low configuration, Mediatek Helio P22T chip. The performance rating of this chip is even lower than the Exynos 850 equipped on the Galaxy M12 that we learned the other day. However, it is not a chip with any powerful processing capabilities!
That is very evident in the actual use of the machine. We have seen times when the machine slows down; we have to wait for 1-2 beats to operate again. Tab A7 Lite is much more suitable for light, arcade-style games with this configuration and screen size. Games like Plants vs. Zombies, Temple Runner, Smash Hit, or Jetpack Joyride are handled well by the machine, even at the highest graphics configuration without lag when playing.
The size is smaller than other tablets, along with the impressive thinness, the Tab A7 Lite cannot integrate a battery with outstanding capacity, only stopping at 5100mAh. However, when combined with a screen with only HD + resolution, the brightness cannot be high, and with the low-range configuration, this battery can still easily be used for a day, even when used with 4G. If you enjoy offline or use Wifi, you can be ready for the whole 2nd day.
The advantage of duration is “overshadowed” by the disadvantage of this tablet’s charging problem. Although Tab A7 Lite supports the 15W charging standard, the charging dock provided in the box is only nearly half as low in power – only 7.75W!
Unfortunately (or more accurately, thankfully), the product I received did not have a low-power charging dock, so it is impossible to measure exactly how long it will take to charge the device fully. But with the 15W type, I’m using and the charging time has reached 1 hour 50 – 2 hours, the type that comes with the device takes up to 3 hours 30 minutes or even 4 hours is not surprising. Those who buy this tablet will have to spend some money to buy an external charging dock; otherwise, every battery charge is a “nightmare”!

By evaluating the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, I feel that this tablet will be the most suitable gift for parents for the little ones to entertain or for the elderly to use as a smartphone replacement. The sturdy metal design is not afraid of shocks but still thin, light for comfort in use, and the ability to call and text further confirms it for these two objects.
As for technology lovers, configuration lovers, or office workers who need a tablet for work, Tab A7 Lite will certainly bring a “missing” experience when only owning a small screen. Outstandingly, the quality is only temporarily acceptable, and the processor is low enough to do the most basic tasks.
Although the A7 Lite has an attractive price of only $180-200, if you have to need to surpass this tablet, it will be more reasonable to save more money to wait to buy Galaxy Tab S or Apple iPad.
