amazon SOUNDPEATS WINGS2 reviews

Launched in 2020, Soundpeats TrueWings created a fever when it was launched because at that time there was no other headset in the $35 price range that had a design suitable for such movement needs. Technical specifications about connection and battery life are also a strong point of this headset.

At the present time, finding a headset with an earhook design similar to truewings is not difficult and it seems that after launching the S5, Soundpeats abandoned this product line but no, the company still released True-Wings2 with a few changes in design and internal specifications and the same price.

Design

The box and accessories of Soundpeats Wings2 are nothing special, so I will go straight to the design part. The materials used on Soundpeats Wings2 are still completely plastic and rubber, the charging case has an acceptable finish, not too good, but the company has emphasized it with round dot patterns combined with a glossy surface. There is a stylized pattern of the Soundpeats logo, giving Soundpeats Wings2 a sportier look, not as boring as before.

Inside the box is a housing with a design quite similar to the Soundpeats S5 but has been scaled down and converted to earbuds, not in-ear like on True Wings as before. This design feels very comfortable when worn. It doesn’t clog your ears and you don’t have to worry about the headphones falling off when you’re exercising vigorously. The downside is that the soundproofing is quite bad and the sound quality will also be significantly reduced in the bass range.

Specifications and experience

I have nothing to complain about these two factors on Soundpeats Wings2. First, in terms of connection, this headset is equipped with the latest Bluetooth 5.3 standard and comes with the basic SBC codec, so the connection is very stable whether you are sitting in one place or exercising at high intensity. Battery life of 8 hours on the ear and up to 30 hours on the case is too comfortable if not redundant for my daily needs. The waterproof standard of Soundpeats Wings2 is only IPX4, so it is enough to resist sweat or light water jets. You should pay attention to this issue and I think we should also clean it every time after using the headphones. Soundpeats Wings2 is also equipped with a gaming mode that helps reduce latency to 70ms. In my experience, this mode is not too different, perhaps because the SBC + Bluetooth 5.3 codec already works so well.

Sound quality

The company advertises it as having strong sound quality with deep and realistic bass, clear midrange and high tones, but when I actually experienced it, I was a bit disappointed. The earbuds design on Soundpeats Wings2 cannot give a bass that is large enough and deep enough for you to listen to vibrant EDM music tracks, the bass of these headphones is quite small and for me it is like that. Just enough for a background, if you love a design like the Soundpeats Wings2 but want a more powerful bass range, you can choose the Soundpeats S5. In return, the bass range is somewhat lacking, the mid and treble of this product are quite good, the vocals and instrument sounds in the high range are clear, especially when you enjoy Don Wiliams’ music tracks.

Summary

For me, Soundpeats Wings2 is not really an upgrade of the previous True Wings, with this new earbuds design, this will be a headset for those who like to listen to music while exercising but cannot wear inears, you need a headset that is comfortable and most importantly, still has a good grip on your ears, but if you love bass and like vibrant music genres, then in my opinion Soundpeats S5 will still be a more reasonable choice.
