Design
The M6s (PX-128M6s) of the Plethor M6 SSD series announced at CeBIT 2014. The standard 2.5-inch, 2.5-inch hard drive design is suitable for most current laptops, including Ultrabook and Ultrathin.
Plextor also unveiled the mSATA M6M SSD interface for compact devices and the PCI Express M6e with bandwidths of up to 1 GB / sec (1,000 MB per second) per channel. 33% higher than SATA 3.0 maximum bandwidth (750 MB / sec.), Suitable for systems that need to handle multiple tasks at the same time.

Performance
The Test Lab runs on the Intel Ivy Bridge-E platform configuration, the Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 motherboard, and the Intel Core i7-4960X. The tests run on Windows 8 Pro 64 bit and SSD Corsair Force GT 240GB as primary partitions.
Compared to the same segment of the Crucial M550 128GB, the Plextor M6s performed better in both the PCMark 8 and PCMark 05 measurements, but were also lower in the actual write speed test with the Test Lab data library.
Specifically, the ATTO Disk Benchmark measures the highest achievable data rate of the M6s at 343.60 MB per second for read and write is 530.24 MB per second. In the PCMark 8 storage trial, Plextor’s SSD model scored 245.19 MB / sec, or 4,953 points, while the Crucial M550 128GB was 121.1 MB / sec and 4,663 points.
PCMark 05 measures the hard drive access speed in a simulator environment, which shows an application launch rate of 220 MB per second, a virus scan of 383.2 MB / sec, a write speed of 312.8 MB / sec. The boot process of Windows XP is 288.9 MB / sec.
With a 10GB formatted data library, which combines a variety of formats including HD movies, lossless music, application installation sources, and text files, Plextor M6s takes 32.68 seconds to complete. Copy data from the Documents folder, system partition with an average write speed of 313.32 MB / sec.
Similarly to the sample data is a single 10GB file, M6s only takes 31.76 seconds with an average write speed of 322.4 MB / sec. A bit slower than Crucial’s M550 128GB write speed is 376.45 MB per second.
Also note that the Test Lab does not recognize the reading result of the Plextor M6s SSD in the actual test set by the SSD (Corsair Force GS 240GB) with a write speed of 310 MB / sec; Lower than reading speed of M6s.
