amazon Transcend SSD370S 256 GB reviews
Transcend’s new lineup, the SSD370S, spans 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB.
The specifications of the drive are detailed on the back cover of the box. This SSD is 6.8 mm thick – meaning it attaches to all laptops and ultrabooks. The operating temperature of the drive in the range 0 -> 70 degrees Celsius, while the temperature of the storage from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.
The included accessory includes a user guide and a 3.5″ tray for easy mounting to standard chassis.
The Transcend SSD370S is advertised as a self-made controller, called the Transcend TS6500, which, in my opinion, is actually Silicon Motion SM2246EN, which Transcend is renaming. Silicon Motion SM2246EN controller is quite popular recently, is well appreciated both in terms of performance and cost. Many SSDs such as PNY, Corsair, Adata … are using this controller on some of their product lines.
The Transcend SSD370S uses SATA3 6 GB / s interface, backward compatible with SATA2.

For SSDs, the more storage space available, the lower the drive speed. So the test content consists of 3 steps:
– Measure the drive speed when empty without data. Ổ boot windows and software installation is Kingston HyperX 240 GB SSD.
– Measure the drive speed after installing windows, use the Transcend SSD370S 256 GB to boot windows and install the measurement software.
– Measure the drive speed after 50%, 75% and 98% of drive capacity, using the Transcend SSD370S 256 GB drive to boot windows and install the measurement software.
The first is the speed when the drive is completely empty. Operating system and software running on Kingston HyperX 240 GB. Reading speed is about 535 MB / s, while write speed is 312 MB / s. Between the normal read and write speeds and the RAW (0Fill) read / write speed, there is virtually no difference in the stability of the Transcend SSD370S.
The 4K read / write speed of the drive is 32-132 MB / s – relatively good for the price range of the Transcend SSD370S.
After installing Windows 10, the capacity is occupied 13 GB. From now on I use the Transcend SSD370S 256 GB as the boot drive and install the benchmark software. Speed is almost unchanged compared to 100% free drive.
Filled with 50% data, the speed is not only decreasing but also slightly increased at 4K reading (from 132 MB / s to 140 MB / s). Even HD Tune Pro – a software that is very responsive to reading speed is hardly catchy.
Add 25% more data, the drive still does not slow down at all.
Fasten by the result when the drive is full 99% capacity: Same original, impressive!
There are three factors that most users look for in an SSD: read-write speed, fast access, and extreme speed. Stable, without any modifications even when 99% of capacity is used. If I do not have an SSD, I would definitely buy one of them.
