Dishonored – If Skyrim is a harmonious combination of a vast open-world and non-linear gameplay, Dishonored exposes the meticulousness of interior design and freedom in a unique storyline linear.

Until now when the gaming market is flooded with countless hit titles, Dishonored has had great success developing itself a style of play and game scene unlike anyone – steampunk (world of mechanics runs on steam and often has a mix of magic).

That left a strong impression on me when I first played this game.

Admittedly, at the E3 2011 fair, when the game’s first trailer was released, many questions and doubts were raised about Dishonored’s success.

A first-person stealth action game, an assassin walking in the dark and using supernatural powers to deal with enemies.

All doubts were smashed once the player entered the game …

Dishonored is set in the fictional industrial city of Dunwall, which is being ravaged by the rats’ plague.

Players play as Corvo Attano, a bodyguard of the queen of Dunwall and the commander of the city.

After the return trip to report to the queen about the assigned mission, Corvo and the queen were attacked by a group of assassins with superpowers.

The queen is assassinated and Corvo survived, but he is falsely accused of killing the queen.

Corvo vows to avenge and rescue the little princess, who knows the truth and is Corvo’s last hope, to be able to help him prove his innocence.

Dishonored is a compelling story about Corvo’s journey to honor and his fight against the dark forces that are slowly tearing up Dunwall.

How it will evolve and how it ends depends entirely on the player.

Not wearing a cult graphic outfit as well as being “backed” by famous story writers, Dishonored’s success point is in its diverse gameplay and extremely logical game design.

In Dishonored, with the same level, the writer could complete in “at least” four different styles of play!

Or I turn into a bloodthirsty murderer, rushing into the middle of the enemy and destroying all those who oppose me.

Or transform into a ninja in the dark, relying on the opponent’s loophole and assassination without leaving a trace.

“Abusing” supernatural powers is also a good way to play!

And eventually turned into a “ghost”, moving through everything without leaving any trace or harm, except the key characters in the Dishonored plot.

All your actions, whatever you do, affect the Dishonored setting, as well as the change in the little princess’s reaction.

If you follow a violent, bloodshed gameplay, the city will change in a more negative direction.

Plague is rampant by corpses you left on the battlefield.

Applying a different approach, the player lurks in the dark, and instead of assassinating the opponent, you faint or skip, the later stages will appear less epidemic.

Not only in the context, but the player’s actions in the previous game screen will also affect the gameplay he must choose in the next game screen.

For example, if you choose to be the side quest of this level, you will be given an option to complete the next level without having to “bleed”.

Dishonored’s characteristic difference is also in the difficulty of the game, which is extremely strange.

With some games like Dark Souls forcing players to adapt to “terrible” difficulty, in Dishonored, the difficulty of the game is entirely up to the player.

Although Dishonored lets you pick the difficulty level, it doesn’t matter much.

The reason that I give the point above is that the game supports you with four superpowers.

If you can use these superpowers proficiently, even if you are surrounded by a group of troops, it is too easy to deal with all the enemies within a few minutes!

So what is the player-determined difficulty?

They are the goals set by the player themselves.

Dishonored provides an achievement such as: completing the game does not kill anyone except key characters; complete the game without being detected once or complete the game without using any superpowers except level one instantaneous move.

These achievements are not required, they are added to hint the player on new gameplay.

Players can completely do their own thing.

But if you want to “taste” a bit of the challenge and “measure” your gaming ability, these are the things you should not miss!

One notable point of Dishonored is the refinement of the architecture in the game.

Visible influence of the Victorian architectural style in the second half of the 19th century: from the lavishly decorated villas with a blend of English and French architecture to the bridges curved ladders, intricate carvings, wasted areas wandering the sewers, architectural iron frames mixed with sprawling brick lime, …

Dishonored portrays the features of Victorian architecture and shows the player the obvious differences between the different areas of an industrial city.

This makes players “forget” feeling confined and immersed in the world of Dishonored.

And finally, it’s impossible not to mention the sound of the game.

Although not extremely excellent, the sound of the game does a good job of it.

From inspirational conversations, portraying the character of the character to the game’s soundtrack “whistled” happily by the brazen gate guards.

There is no personal record management system in Dishonored yet.

This makes the player very “annoyed” because in some cases, if they want to play the game in different ways, they have to finish the game in a style first, then have to play again, instead of maybe. Parallel use many personal profiles to play.

This inconvenience will be easy to see: if your acquaintances also want to play games on the same machine, what will it be like?

Overall, aside from the problem with profile management, Dishonored has very few bugs and they have almost no effect on the player’s experience.
